When I was little we had racing greyhounds so I uderstanding the betting and losing thing. My dog always came last and I regularly lost my pocket money betting on her :rotfl:
ETA that makes it sound like my parents encouraged me to bet but it was a good learning experience!Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

I am also struggling with the fact that my dad taught me to never bet more than you are willing to kiss goodbye to, maybe I should just give myself £50 and see what happens
ETA: I meant Intro Offers and Gambling thingy thread, not UYI
Yeah OH is starting off with £50 as well. He said people were saying if you do it properly there shouldn't be too much to lose? I don't have a clue though. OH is very cautious and not competitive so am not worried about him from the gambling perspective.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

She was a lovely blue brindle with a kennel name of Pudding and she was a bit tubby for a greyhound!

I used to go to the dogs out here in Walthamstow, before they shut it
50p bets each way and chicken in a basket (well poly box but they meant basket) - happy days.
I have just been over reading the threads in the gambling intro offers bit and every time I do I get through about 10 posts and then lose the will to live. It isn't then, it is just I am utterly impatient and if I don't get something immediately I ditch it. I kind of get it, but then I worry that I haven't really.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Just counted my £1 and £2 sealed pots (one now positively un-sealed) and I have £100 in them, seems reasonable to cash it in in the name of upping my challenge total. That plus £140 I have sitting in an account ready to transfer and I only need to find £550 to hit all of my challenges. When I say only, I mean  although it sounds better than £750 which is where it currently is at. !!!!!!, the water bill is on its way too (although the leccy was £40 less than I had guestimated
).
Starting to feel better already.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
