Forgot to mention, I bought some purpleness today.
Got the watch that I saw in the gift shop in the local shopping centre the other week and also saw a lovely purple velvet square jewellery box which I think she will love.
Will keep my eyes open for some smaller things when we go shopping tomorrow. I'm looking forward to going around the shops without 3 little ones stressing me out.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
I was going to ask about the purpleness, quite a popular colour this year, for small bits, they had a few lilac/purple bits in the gift stuff in Wilko, like bath bombs etc, be fairly light to post.
Done one dooyoo review whilst having my lunch, so on 34k now, should get to 35k by the end of the day, cant believe its 3pm already, feel like I've not done anything, even though I haveWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Ooooh thats just hit on the head for me I think.... I dont begrudge my sister anything at all, and I love her to bits but I definitely struggled with knowing what I wanted to do with my life, so wandered aimlessly and ended up not paying much attention and not really care...
Whereas my sister had a plan , knuckled down and did it.... I'm a bit envious over the direction she's had in life, but I'll get mine later.....
Late bloomer me :rotfl:
I feel much the same as you do, but my sister was drifter as well, but she did this and that and the other when I just drifted, but only this year she found a permanent job and for the first time, is actually earning more than me. And she's got debts as well...We are quite similar, and our approach was only slightly different. But she's done a lot of different things actually choosing what she wanted to, and I've just drifted from one thing to another as it's suited my circumstances. THis year I thought I might make a chance though...DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Mindless waffle of the carbonated variety..... takeaways.... and now we're onto the really juicy stuff....Good times!
I've got a fully fledged cold, and my eyes are really stinging!Just need another 700 on dooyoo to reach my days target...
Just off to check my accounts and see whats paid (or not paid!)

Hello everyone on this dank, dark, wintry afternoon! The overachievers don't mean to accidentally get their siblings into debt - honest! I am one and also manged to run up debts - I think this was just from being offered credit when I hit my 20s and getting into bad habits, cos I was fine when a had a Saturday job as a teenager and no credit cards or OD - just lived within my means.
CAFC - I have added you on dooyoo (will message you so you know who I am). Good luck on the 50k target - I'm impressed at how you've set yourself daily targets.
Tirlittan - I was just asking about the loan cos I wondered why you were paying it off so quickly if it was a UK one - but I see you're in a different system. Is the Finnish system as rubbish as the SLC here in Britain? Their most up to date record of what I owe dates back to April 2007 and they claim it is not possible to get a more recent total. It's hard to work out myself as the interest rate and payments keep changing  Mind you, they do have a man with a very nice Scottish accent who sometimes answers the phone.
Enjoy your online takeaways tonight! I'm still poorly so not sure I'll join in.
SW xx
Zman - love the suggestion of being a miser - think I'm halfway there!0 -
P.S Also noticed a running theme of over achieving siblings, perhaps we're all rebelling inside.......?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm pretty sure my sister would never have meant for me to be in debt... She's fab with her money though, to the point of actually being tight, but then I suppose she's got her money through being tight..... maybe thats something I should learn....
The cold has taken full hold of my frontal lobe now.... and my eyes wont open properly. I have however managed to pack a few boxes of items that just sit in our kitchen cupboards doing nothing, other than waiting to be packed up againWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Thanks everyone for the detailed responses - did feel slightly out on a limb- wondered whether I had given a bit too much info...
I need to pack for us all now - kids to MILs and OH and I away but it is a work related thing so not likely to be much fun but is a lot of driving. will then still have all my jobs to do when we get back... ArgHHHHHH
