    Hi CravingSaving,

There's an earlier thread with some ideas that might help so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've been asked to do some cooking for the annual Pumpkin Parade. I've done it before and have been more than happy to do my bit for charitable aims. However, this year my time is really short and I have appointments I cannot break but neither do I want to let down the organisers who have had reason to trust my word.

I normally make a couple of gallons of soup and some sweet pumpkin pies. Does anyone know of recipes that will allow me to cook ahead and freeze but which will, when thawed, be of an acceptable level.

I'm really hoping for some experienced replies here but if not, I shall have to get some matchsticks to keep the eyes open and cook through Thursday night!

Could you do a soup in the slow cooker overnight or even during the day, then whizz and blend it all with a stick blender when you get in
  • Hi All,

OH just carved a scary pumpkin (we have no kids so its just him being a big child!! :D )

But I now have the inside of a pumpkin and wondered if there is anything I can do with it??

Any tips/ideas or is it only fit for the bin?

    Thanks all x

Makes a delicious soup. Also tasty in a chicken curry or roasted in the oven if the chunks are a decent size.

    Hope you enjoy it.
  • My friend makes a fantastic pumpkin tart - it's like a custard tart with the pumpkin added with calvados and cinnamon to taste.

It's yummy. I will have to get the recipe.

My darling hubby bought a giant pumpkin in Tesco the other day in preparation for Halloween... It's a little early so hopefully it will last long enough, he was getting in early after ending up with swede sized ones last year!

Anyway, I don't want to waste the whole insides... Last year I made a lovely pumpkin soup... However we ended up with litres of the stuff... And I'd rather not do the same again... Plus it was an online recipe and I don't recall where I got it from...

So what would you all do with the insides of a giant pumpkin?

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
