TK max return policy Warning

And I deny this where?
The point is, their "service" is not worth the name. There are circumstances where returning goods within two weeks is very difficult. And the wording of their returns policy makes them sound as if they're on our side when they plainly aren't. At the minimum, it's low-level deception.
How have they decieved you??
It says return in 14 days.
You didn't manage to to that?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Low level deception, sounds like you are looking to cause controversy..
As what they are doing is above and beyond the legal requierment you are talking c@rp0 -
it's a shame that you couldn't take the thing back cloud9, but that's the rules they go by. Sometimes they'll go beyond it, but it's up to them
TK have a huge problem with fraudulent returns - and with people stealing things. I worked there for a few months as a student and 3 things stick out.
1 - Although I worked on average 20 hours a week (and mostly weekday mornings), I would get on average 3 people trying to buy something with a sticker from something else a week.
2 - I would also see on average one person a week try to 'return' something that they had picked off the shelves.
3 - After being there a month we had a meeting. We'd had no theft prevention staff in the store for a couple of months, and we were told that considering this, the audited figures for 'loss' - ie what we counted had been nicked, wasn't bad - during that time it was only £70,000.
Sadly it seems that Tk encounter a lot of dodgy characters, and that means the rest of us lose out..for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.
New Year's Resolution: Post less unnecessary posts. (and that was 2007)
yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.0 -
If you lost your train/plane ticket, would you expect those companies to let you just get on anyway, without a ticket? I doubt it.0

All stores have similar problems. How could you be sure that they had picked the item off the shelf?Don't say because the tag was on..they get left on often.0 -

You didn't manage to to that?
Well, it doesn't say return it in 14 days. It says if you return it in 14 days it's like getting a big soppy hug from TK Maxx. It doesn't say anything about trying to return it after 14 days. Here's an alternative returns policy TK Maxx might have used:If you return your item in its original condition with a receipt within fourteen days of purchase we will honour all requests for refunds or exchange. Items returned after fourteen will in no circumstances be accepted back.
It doesn't, like the official policy, sound like it's doing the customer a big favour. It's completely honest. Don't we like completely honest?
I'm not saying Don't shop at TK Maxx if you like their cheap stuff. I'm saying that if you do want to shop there, be aware that their returns policy isn't transparent. Sometimes, if you depend on a relative to return goods to you, getting things back within 14 days isn't always possible. The purpose of this forum is to share information, what you do with that information after that is entirely up to you. I'd forgotten what a magnet this site is sometimes for the terminally smug.0 -
Maybe the moral of the story is to buy gifts from stores with a longer returns period (eg M&S) or from a store that issues a gift receipt (eg Next) but only shop at TK Maxx if you know you can get back to the store within 14 days.
The policy is clear and fair as no store legally has to take back an item because it doesn't fit or you have changed your mind anyway.0 -

Train companies probably not (unless you beg/cry), but you don't need a ticket for many flights nowadays, as they already have your details, so you just need your passport!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Quirky, a little bit humorous, it's even written in a heart shape - they've really worked at making this sound customer-friendly, haven't they? They must have overlooked the fact that they'd sell less unwanted stuff if people actually knew they had to get it back in time. No more TKM for me.
Well why don't they? The bit you quoted doesn't mention once but twice the time period in which you've got to return the item.
I don't know what you we're trying to prove by quoting it. It's proved one thing but not your point!0 -
