Looks like i'll be taking her in on Friday to the Vet practice that will do the op for their opinion & i'll make sure they're certain it can be left if they suggest leaving it too. I really dunno if they'll think it's pre-existing, I guess if they read MSE they will! But the Rescue didn't notice it so idk.0

Its a tricky one, I dont know. I would say these things can pop up anytime - I have a lump in my arm which the doc says is a fatty lump (I hope he is right, he has never really checked it out! lol) - I swear it popped up overnight, but in reality I guess it was just to small to notice for a while - who knows!
tigerlily - I spotted something on dogpages about new dogs getting pink sore bits on pads - may be worth a look as I know you were worried about Chaya's paw too.. sounds v. similar0 -
You would need to ask the vet - I mean shes seen this vet before hasnt she? If so, and he didnt notice or make a note of it, then surely it could be said that it is a new condition? Ask the vet their opinion on claiming.0

lmao don't tempt me! The place on her leg is still there but feels like a small bump, I can feel it but not see it now but it's not bothering her anymore. The lump on her toe isn't getting worse & isn't bothering her & the other toe that we went about isn't getting worse or better & is still there but still not bothering her. Actually, it no longer bleeds after walks so may be abit better just slow healing which is understandable as she's walked everyday.
I have no idea if her ears are clean yet or not but will use the ear drops until the bottle runs out as the Vet didn't say how long to use them for. They look clean but I can't remember what they were like before & had probably never looked.
The lump hasn't got bigger or anything, so i'm hopeful it'll just be there doing nothing nasty inside until April, we're almost on Feb so I hope it will soon come. Her & the Cat have made progress today, the Cat will now walk about the room while Chaya is on the bed or chair & sit on me while i'm online (O joy  )
Took her for a 45 minute walk earlier, we're in a routine now sort've, then after the park was empty so I risked letting her off & she resumed killing the swing, no problem with her recall if I just buy a swing seat to wave at her when I want her back! She even hangs off of it when it's unwinding & goes round in circles, god knows what's so good about it!?
I actually want & was gonna post asking for ideas (As cheap as possible) for toys for her, things I can make or buy to keep her occupied (Bearing in mind filling them with food won't work) like the Rats have loo roll inners etc things she can play with. I don't really know what to get? Right now I throw a rope toy for her, the type with tassles on the ends like pom poms (If that makes any sense!) but she yanks the tassles out & swallows & i'm not too sure if that's a good idea!
I'll take a pic (Or 10) Friday when she's outside, maybe i'll catch her killing the swing & make a Wanted poster!0 -
I wonder what she has got against that swing?? She sounds so funny!!
She is doing so well, behaving herself with the cat and going off-lead - Badger is fab off lead, but would try and catch the cat!
I'm glad the lump is not any bigger and I hope that is a good sign! - I think the ear infection and sore pads are just a result of her having been neglected then a stray - she was probably quite run down and stressed before she came to you.
I will have a think about toys, my dog is not much bothered, my mums dog loves tennis balls and frisbees for a game of fetch outside. A nice beef bone is probably Badgers favourite entertainment, bue I am sure others will have more ideas.0 -

I'da thought the rescue would've seen her ears but I guess i'd had her six weeks when I took her & it could've started after, the Vet didn't say what causes it (Where would we be without MSE, Simonthevetman & google!)
I wouldn't be able to trust her off lead around Cats, but I hope in the park all she'll get is birds which can't be helped & I bet many Dogs would chase them but I doubt she'd catch one. I do make sure my Cat is in tho just in case! I don't ever see any Cats in the park, maybe they go in at night but I intend to muzzle her (When I get one) when off lead in case someone comes in with another Dog. That way I can move from the gate! AND she can't kill the swing!
She didn't even bother with the roundabout thing today, just her beloved swing. I'm lucky with this park in that there's just one entrance & it's not in the village or anything central where everyone goes just behind my flat where it's not used much. In the summer kids play footy there all the time, it's all you here but in the winter not many use it. Her 'recall' is useless when the swing is in her chops tho!0 -
Aww Chaya sounds adorable! How cute is she with that swing! lol
As for toys, I usually go to the pound shops and buy her those twisted ropes with the frayed edges and sometimes I use empty milk containers, wash them out and put some treats or some of her kibble in which she happily chews to bits (actually whether there is treats in there or not! she just loves to chew!)
Shes a really hard chewer too so I find buying her toys a waste (although I still do occassionally) as they are usually demolished in minutes.
If I think of anything else I'll pop back! lol
Am also looking forward to seeing more Chaya pics!!0 -
I'm determined to get a pic of her & her swing! I'll get into much trouble if the nice man who unlocks the gate every morning comes by! lol
Maybe if I gave her a swing for dinner she may eat?0 -
Ok, Cavalier King Charles in the park!0
