received mine today as well, its brill. Regarding cashback, do i just forward them invoice or follow their Step 3?:

Attach invoice to the online claim form, with product(s) and purchase date(s) circled. Please scan in your original invoices.

Also those who have put their claim thru, which 6820s model did you select from the list as there's 3 of them??

to anyone that has bought it for their kids at xmas. I would set it all up first.

First you have to charge it for a good few hours, then to set it up took me 2 and a half hours last night to install vista, and make recovery discs.

I have still got to add kaspersky and the wireless connection on it yet

Its horrible when kids have to wait hours to use their new gadgets on xmas day.

Then when all thats done, i will pakcage it back up, but remember to take the battery back off first.
  • FuzzyF ...How long after sending off your invoice details was it that you recieved that email confiming the cashback will be paid ? I filled mine out yesterday and received a 'processing' email from HP but will be happier when i've got an actual confirmation.

This is excellent advice, mine took about 20minutes to initially setup Vista and boot (automated) etc etc, i'm leaving the recovery discs for a while, they can be done at any time.
I then did the following :-
    Removed the Norton security suite
Added Antivirus (in my case Avast) and a piece of spyware/adware software.
    Setup a wireless connection
    Updated windows
Configured it to a wireless printer
    Added Microsoft Office (without Outlook)
    Added Mozilla Firefox
    Added & configured Mozilla Thunderbird
Configured a few shortcuts and Vista gadgets

voila, phew !!!!..... an extra 1 1/4 hours but it's now singing and dancing.

I've bought this for a 'Silver surfer' relative and like Divadee says it can take the shine off a new purchase if you've got to mess around, even get stuck, when initialising your new toy... good luck;)

Why not get those Recovery discs done and out of the way? One set for you and another for the 'silver surfer'. :)
