Well done on a constructive post..NOT. The customers of Icesave can do without immature comments like yours.

Sorry can't help but be a little unsympathetic to those who joined the run on Icesave and have found their money in limbo. Once a run starts it will break any bank - not saying that Icesave where a sound institution as the credit crunch developed - however mob behaviour is an ugly thing. Maybe Icesave should have pulled the plug on their Internet site but that in itself would have created a lot of anger.

I would suggest the "run" was quite a natural and sensible thing to attempt after the initial Icelandic statement last Monday!

It would also have been natural and sensible perhaps to assume that there might be glitches in the computer systems caused by the run with the bank having difficulty in meeting its obligations which might create complications which would take some time to sort afterwards.
  • But it wasnt a "glitch in the computer systems" was it!

Maybe not in the computer system initially (which would also not have been surprising) but in Icesaves ability to back up transactions of the system with real money and for the computer system to rectify this later without time consuming manual effort.

Given that the FSA are the first ones to make contact since they will have all the details anyway I'm not worried at all. This is a typical Media scare story as we have come to expect as they trawl the depths for a new storyline.
  • Honestly. for **** sake, why bother posting ***** like this.

I couldn't get into my account on occasions before it went sour. Yesterday I couldn't get my webmail for something that had nothing to do with me....was I bothered???? er no, because technology sometimes falls down

I'm not paranoid, I've printed off account details the minute it went sour and checked my account a few times mainly to see if my interest has done anything & I've got in every time.
  • I have no problem getting into my icesave isas, they show the total as normal! I made sure I printed copies off.

    Hello,

I did not have my account details at work but went home last night and accessed my account details just fine. It must have just been a glitch nothing more. I am also going to stop panicing - the problem is that nothing like this has happened to me before. So i dont know what to expect

    :o
