hi mum of 4,
thanks for sending your plan to me, it looks very comprehensive. you've got such a big patch... however do you find time for it all without it turning into a constant chore??
I have finally screwed myself up and started gutting the greenhouse off all the seed trays with dried up shrivelled dead things in them ready to start trying again. going to go and see if it possible to rescue my tomotoes now which have been allowed to grow wild for the past 2 months....and looking very sickly as a result...
If i am about to start back off again at this time of year.... anyone got a suggestion of what may be good to start with. I notice from the 12month plan that in sept 08 there is winter onions, garlic, spinach, leeks, winter cabbage, spring cabbage and late carrots, with purple french beans in the polytunnel. Would I be too late to try and start them off from seed/ plant as plugs now?
Thanks for your help

Too late to sow leeks but if you can get plants then they could be transplanted, be careful when buying from a gardencentre, check they have been kept moist.
You could sow lettuce, spring cabbage, spinach, rocket and maybe sow a fast carrot type for in the greenhouse.
Also start looking for where you will buy winter onion sets. I always buy as sets but you may be able to start them as seed to transplant in a few months but I'm not sure if it's too late.
I've decided to try Florance Fennel this year so you could sow some too.
Oh and course plant some garlic, but not just yetKind Regards

Thanks Maz. Have received the planting plant so just need to review now what to put in my small garden which has to have a lawn for my son! The summer has been great with cucumbers, toms, raspberries, strawberries, lettuces, onions, potatoes.... the less said about brocolli, brussells and cabbage white butterfiies the better! There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0

Well, just can't visit realseeds.co.uk without placing an order
My ambition is still to grow enough peas for the year!
I've just orded several packs of peas 'Early Annonay Pea' which I will plant now as the weather is so naff. I would normally plant them about Oct but I might sowing half this month and half next month. They are a dwarf type so protecting from the pea maggot should be good. I'll sow them in root trainers to give them a fighting chance.
Also going to start fennel 'colossal fennel' according to realseeds this can be sown now with the later part of the month being suggested as a possible sowing time. I might put a few in the tunnel but I think they would be better outside.
The plot needs a good amount of time spent on it. Really hope that I can tidy it up this week. picked another 2 kilo's of small red tomatoes.
This weeks shopping bill is fantastic as most of the meals if not all are coming from the plot.Kind Regards

Thanks Mumof4, just recieved email. I think it's amazing how much money you're saving, I can't wait to finally get my garden so I can plant out all my seeds and plants so I can get the space back :rotfl:0

Thank you for the impressive plan, it must have taken you ages.
I would love a polytunnel but think it's a no go as the site my allotment is on is very exposed (coastal), nearly everyone lost their runner beans a few weeks ago and even the potatoes got a bit battered.
I have half a plot at the moment but the friend I'm sharing with hasn't much time and I'm hoping he'll hand it over at some point
Only got it at the end of May so was a little behind this year. Plan to buy a couple of the little plastic greenhouses for my garden so I can start things off early next year as my windowsills down get much light and I have cats
I have bought so many seeds that I've confused myselfso I'm looking forward to sitting down with your plan and playing around with it for next year.
thanks again0
