    Hi irishwexford

just read your post re plan.

    If you go here

    www.OpenOffice.org-Suite.com

you can download the complete office suite for free (I had to do this as I dont use MS office either(lol).
The complete plan opens in the openoffice spreadsheet program straight away

this is the correct site for open office where you can download it. it's better than using the free excel reader because you can modify the plan or make your own things from scratch

by the by... I am growing a few things in pots and am probably getting linkabord sets for christmas, but i have only got a patch of concrete to put them on, I am wondering whether this will be a problem for drainage? my pots are on a patio table so the water just drains out and off the table
  • Thank you for the plan, it really is excellent. :T Looking forward to studying it.

I've been asked a few times if i can do some plans for other sized veg plots.

I don't mind but it will take me a few days. Once spring is nearing it is unlikely I'll have the time.

Most full size plots are actually 10 rods which is only slightly bigger than the plans I've already done.

I'll need the overall size and anything you don't like but I will need your email address to send the file and you will need to be able to accept the file in excel.
    Kind Regards
    Maz

I make batches of sauce and then freeze in smallish freezer bags which hold about 400 - 500g it's not ketchup sauce rather a base sauce for cooking

You know how it is add some of this and then some of that.

The stock pot I make it in holds 6L where upon I add approx 4kg of tomato's which are normally plum (Pomadoro/tomato Roma) a couple of red onions, 5 cloves of garlic and a good table spoon of chopped red chilli and loads of basil.

I normally lightly fry the garlic, onions and chilli for a couple of minutes, but not too long to burn the garlic, add the tomato's and basil and bring to the boil and then simmer then after about 20 minuts blitz with a hand blender. Cool then bag up.

When I use it I might add a few other things but it's a great base recipe. Add spinach and you have a great pasta sauce sprinkle with goat's or feta cheese
    and homemade bread.

    Hope that makes sense.
    Kind Regards

Thank you very much for the planting plans and the advice on how to clear our allotment.

One thing I have thought strange from looking at posts on here, where we have just been allocated our allotment, they have one area (approx 20 plots)which they are not opening up until they have enough people wanting one, we only applied for ours three weeks ago and got our key last week! Mind you the area they have not opened up has not been used for a number of years and is now one big bramble bush taller than me...I am a tad short though!

The one we have is overgrown with nettles, a few brambles and lots of general weeds. which has also got a shed already(leaky one mind you!). In one corner mixed in with the weeds is a few rasberry plants and a thornless blackberry bush and down the side it has metal poles already secured (very secure) in the ground for peas, beans, etc.

    Thank you again
