Ask at the college - where I was for 6th form, we filled in a form so we paid child fares. when I went to college, we had free travel between the college sites and city centre.

I am meant to be going out tomorrow evening. How do people deal with pain, please? I'm going to be spending most of it stood up - it's a gig; so can't really sit down. :(

  • Make sure you take your usual pain meds as scheduled all today and tomorrow; if you have an additional type prescribed for severe pain that can be safely added to your usuals, take one halfway through the concert/as soon as you feel your first twinge, take another when able/you get back. Take another in morning.

    Have fun!

LW sorry things are getting on top of you lately, I've got behind with the flylady thing too this week as I spent a couple of days at my Grandparents, theres always another week ;) Hows little Sidney ? he sounds very cute :D
Thanks Suep. LOL I guess I'm just fed up, as we all are, with the flippin' pain. Getting up off the loo is starting to become an issue. No. no. NO. I am NOT going to have help with that. *stamps foot*.
And the flippin' tinnitus is nearly driving me demented.

However.... Sidney is lovely. He's a miniature Schnauzer, very sweet, very vocal!:D He's also diabetic, so Mr LW has to give him an insulin injection twice daily. I can't do it because I have a serious needle phobia - just the sight of the syringe, with the needle still covered, is enough to make be feel extremely wobbly. *rolleyes*
I shall miss the little guy when he goes home tomorrow; however Molly's coming for 16 days in July, and I've got Pip & Pandora again for a weekend in August.:o

Please could everyone spare a thought for my sister who is awaiting blood test results at the moment. After 2 years of ill health she has been tested for Lupus among other things.
She's at a point reached by so many of us on this thread that she just wants a positive diagnosis now so she can begin some form of treatment and arrange her life accordingly.
    One life.
  • jennihen Will keep her in my thoughts. I have had Lupus for 7/8 years now. Scratch that; I've had the dx for 7/8 years. If there's anything I can help with in terms of info etc, please do let me know, although I would say that the symptoms of Lupus vary very much from person to person. Please feel free to pm me or get her to?
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

  • p.s. lw I am saving for a toilet frame as waiting list to be assessed for appliances is 18 months. Is this something you might find helpful?

Jennihen here's hoping that your sister can get a proper diagnosis. I agree, having a label for what's wrong at least gets you started on the way to the correct meds. I got my diagnosis in 2003, -three days before my wedding!! but like CwtA goodness knows how long I'd actually been suffering with lupus. It took a house move - and therefore a new hospital + rheumy - before they did the appropriate tests.

Unfortunately, the way our bathroom is we wouldn't get a loo frame in there, or I too would be looking to possibly purchase one. I'm currently managing by holding onto the heated towel rail one side and the wash basin the other side, but it's not ideal.

Have you looked into a disabled facilities grant? They might be able to build an extension so you have a separate toilet.

Jennihen - I hope your sister is ok.

Lamewolf You dont need to explain to me or anyone else on here about times like that , I think we all have them, you just have to be kind to yourself and wait for it to pass. Im reading the set of True Blood books at the moment and they are helping me to shut it all out iykwim, trouble is Im on the last one, but the new ones due out soon. Maybe when the weather improves you and Mr LW can plan a special day out somewhere nice, have you been to the wolf sancturary place recently ? I have a toilet frame, but theres other things you can have if you havn't got the room, have you had an OT assesment ?

Jennihen I do hope your sister gets a quick diagnosis and that she has the support she needs. It's a worrying time waiting for results isnt it.

cwta 18 months , mind you I had mine done about 10 years ago so it's probably not much different here either now. I suppose it's the usual cutbacks, it's not right though is it. How are you feeling now ? are you starting to feel any better ?

Just read on the net that Lady Gaga's been tested for Lupus, apparently it runs in her family and shes had a few health scares lately.

From what I hear she has an ANA level on the high side of normal, which could land her in for several different autoimmune conditions if it gets any worse, not solely SLE.
