Looks like someone forgot to make one of my appointment requests!! Deep breath, do not swear, keep calm and then kick the living daylights out of the specialist the next time I see them......
Waiting for a call back from the hospital tomorrow (I hope) with confirmation they've now made appointment number 3. After that's been done, we move on to appointment number 4.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

I am, as usual, on my phone in bed so no lengthly reply from me but couldn't leave without saying hi.
Oh, and having now seen a new consultant...i've now joined the Hypermobility clan. Joy(!)-another dx they can't really help you with! At least i know i'm not crazy about my weak carp joints now tho!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Ah! *gives you secret handshake*
That could also explain the fibromyalgia, too, since fibro is frequently secondary to HMS/HEDS...Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Back from a hospital appointment with eldest, they sent him for a thyroid check due to his not being able to put weight on and dizziness.
Arrived home and the report from the geneticist on my eldest was sitting on my doormat....they ARE wanting to check youngest as well as my middle son. I did think it strange they didn't want to as he already has diagnosed HMS!
I go up tomorrow to see the neck and back specialist at the local physio, just worried they will think I am wasting their time like the GP did....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me... I'm learning to drive again, in an auto. I transfer- so I use my right leg for both accelerator and brake- but everytime I drive I'm in pain. I'm off painkillers at the moment, they do nothing for me and I've been off them for 3 months now so that when I go see neuro. Re: chronic headpain he can't use that as a reason for it. Just on nortriptyline and pregabalin for pain. It's really frustrating as I'm managing cognitively with driving, but the pain in my knee especially is immense and I just don't know what to do about it!0

Is it possible that not putting on weight is due to genes? Much to my mother's disgust I can eat whatever I want (as can dad) and not put any weight on at all.
I seriously need a kick up the backside please:
I have a slightly dodgy knee. It clicks too easy and is very sore - I couldn't bend it yesterday without wanting to scarem.
I *know* I need to go to the doctors; but really can't be bothered... (I've been pulled around enough by them this year)Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Not sure SH, both me and his dad have had to watch what we are eating, as do his brothers.
You are also not alone in the needing to get yourself up to the doctors...it only took me a year to persuade myself! We made it! It's quiet in here this evening! Is everyone down the pub?
Had another medical exam today on my "Functional Capacity". It should be re-titled "We're going to cause you as much pain as we possibly can". I fell over twice and they decided that making me carry something whilst walking was probably not a good idea!!
The good news is that my new wheelchair (I think this is number 7 in 12 months) is due to be delivered on Monday. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
I'm planning a trip to London for the weekend. So far organised transport to and from the train station (my friend Colin has a brilliant mum- she's going to pick us up
), booked a wheelchair for the Science Museum on Sunday, and worked out all the routes to the various places we're going to.
Yet to do is print out the reservation at the hostel, pack the stuff I need into my backpack, and double check the train times for tomorrow. Should I take my laptop or not?Purple Penguin Power!

Had my appointment today for the neck and back specialist and the outcome was that I have to go up for an MRI to check on if the nerves are being squashed by anything.
