you've mistaken me for someone who cares! lol actually I'm the same as you, if someone is gay, religious, non gay, non religious etc that's fine by me. Just because I don't belong to a religion doesn't mean I'm anti religion. To be honest I find religious discussions interesting and I'm not going to get upset with them because it's purely objective with me xxx I even invite the Jehovah's Witnesses in!! lol0

I'm a Christian
Not all churches of the same denomination have all the doctrine and religion, I used to go to a baptist church before we moved, and now go to a C of E (when I'm able) where we have drums and electric guitars, it's all pretty relaxed and we don't have all the routine bits that you have to say, they have a more traditional service earlier (C of E churches have to do the declarations and all the repetitive stuff at at least one service).
I'm not one for ramming my faith down other people's throats, if they want to ask questions, fine, and I hope that the way I behave (for the most part, I'm not perfect) reflects my beliefs, but I'm not going to treat you any differently because you don't have the same beliefs as me. I don't have an issue (that I know of!) with homosexuality either, I have a wonderful friend who's gay, though that was a slightly painful issue... I fell in love with him before I knew!
Off out at lunch, mum's got an appt. and is leaving me in town, first time I've been out on my own for about 2 years!? Went out with friends 6 months ago, but very excited! (though slightly concerned about dodgy bit of curb and me and electric chair falling into road!) Hope today's a good day for all! xx0 -
Oh, I'm aware of that, Invasion. Thing is, I was raised attending a C of E primary school, so I really did get it rammed down my throat, especially since section 28 was in force when I was at school so no mention of homosexuality was allowed at all. I didn't know I was gay until I was 17 because there just wasn't any information out there for me.
Yeah, we don't do conversion, but for those churches that follow the Bible to the letter in certain areas, which plenty of Christian denominations do, especially the Catholic side, conversion is the only way of saving someone from damnation... I get a lot of people trying to convert me, and nowadays I just say "sorry, I'm Unitarian" and leave them to it.
Awww, congratulations! I hope things go well for youHomosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

That's nice. We'll return the favour and not treat you differently because of your beliefs!!
Hope you had fun in town.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Haha! I didn't mean any of you personally, just people in general
I know some people who decide the rest of the world must be converted, and if you won't co operate then you're not worthy of being spoken to... Which is a really Christian attitude
I had a great time in town today thanks! It was sooo much more tiring than when I'm with mum though, probably partly cos I was using my electric wheelchair rather than sitting there zombying out and bossing mum about where we're going next...0 -
Just to change the subject, it's a bit since I posted but have been following from a distance.
Have a big few days coming up and just trying to get my self sorted out for all the appointments. Don't think I will be going to bed tonight as far too anxious and worked up.
Tomorrow i have a morning appointment with a Professor of Psychiatry, in the afternoon with my Consultant. Wednesday it's my GP, Thursday my Consultant Neuropsychologist and Friday the Dentist, who now thinks I may have Sjogrens syndrome. Happy days!. Oh, also the Opticians if my new glasses are ready.0 -
Sometimes, Sue, it's easier to have everything "all in one go". I've got appointments on Friday and next Tuesday, plus I'm waiting for 2 more to come through. Unfortunately, the appontments are in 3 different hospitals that are all in completely different directions. As usual, they're not near a train station or on a direct bus route. Sometimes I wish the GP hadn't stopped me from driving!!In the beginning, the universe was created. Hope you appointments go well and you manage to get to them.
I have been to the first two appointments today, both in different directions and now feel utterly exhausted even though I can still drive.0
