I agree with you Invasion, I want to move on too and I did make that clear. In defence of TaBunny though she was only one of many people who were disgusted by the way I had been treated and bullied ( I have been dreadfully ill for two days as a consequence). I had many emails of support but people didn't want to say anything online because they were worried about getting the same treatment. TaBunny acted out of friendship and a sense of justice so I don't want to just ignore her kind comments. It did ultimately just give people another excuse to take a pop at me. I'd woken up this morning hoping to put the whole matter behind me, I have a pair of fairy crutches to make for a five year old and I wanted to get on with things but the latest unfriendly comments just made me ill again and gave me a day filled with pain and tears. I'm grateful to TaBunny for defending me against what is obviously a closed circle but I really did not have anything to do with it and didn't deserve the snide comments about 'passive agressive' when I had moved on. Since when has 'polite' become passive aggressive anyway? My husband and friends and many online people have advised me to stay away from here and I think finally I will. I spend my time trying to make others happy and trying to help them feel good about themselves however due to suffering from severe post traumatic stress disorder as well as my physical illnesses I am very fragile emotionally and this whole thing has set me back a long way. It would be best for me not to come back here. Thankyou for the messages of support I have had from people, I appreciate it. You know where I am if you want me xx0

I wasn't being remotely snide - your comments upset me and I wasn't even involved. But play the victim if you choose.
On a completely unrelated note, and let's move this thread along... Law & Order has been cancelled. Can anyone remember a time without that show?Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Since it started when I was 4, nope, can't remember a time without it.
I'm looking into getting a wheelchair just for days I'm in a lot of pain, but it's hard to choose one. I have a very limited budget, but can anyone help with what I should be looking for?Purple Penguin Power!

ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE!
I just thought I'd say that I do so very much enjoy the fact that my wife can make me smile. She can turn the most illogical statement into logic, provided you don't want to look to closely at the reasoning. It helps on the bad days.
Now can we please stop talking about the effing crutchgate scandal!!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

Sorry Danni - I didn't mean to hijack your post, but we were typing at the same time. I was talking about the previous conversations.

Danni,
I'd suggest you get in touch with your local Red Cross. They have wheelchairs that you can borrow (for a donation). If you explain that you just want to give something a try, they should be able to help you.
I had loads of problems with cheap chairs that had plastic moulded brackets at the back of the seat. I sent 4 chairs back to the manufacturer because the brackets kept on failing (we have some really bad pavements here and the brackets weren't designed to take the jolts).
It may be worth speaking to your local shopmobility as they often know local people who can give help and advice.

Same here! I can't believe they've cancelled it... I am a little bit "...wait, !!!!!!?" just now. Particularly since they're rumouring NBC are going to pick up Heroes for another season, when that one is floundering and L&O isn't...Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Danni, for me heel loops are essential, they give your legs a bit more support and the front castor wheels don't jam into your ankles! A folding back so that it fits in the car easily and I have flip up arm rests which I like too. Lightweight is also good as it makes it much easier to self propel yourself even with limited muscle strength
this chair is £79 or £65 in the burgundy with flip up arm rests. At 19kg it's not tooo heavy (my chair is 13kg and that's about the lightest you get) and it folds for the car too.
this one has heel loops, folds up and removable arms and is £99.. As is this one!
This page on ebay has self propelled chairs under £100
Hope this helps! x0 -
Hi Invasion
The first chair you highlighted was number 3 on my returns list!! It was VERY comfortable, but the brackets at the back could not hold up. Having said that, Betterlife were really good on their customer service and I would quite happily use them again. In the beginning, the universe was created.
