Is this problem with the crutches over mine?! How rude! Sticking buttons onto crutches is hardly a problem with copyright, I'm not selling them, I'm not doing them for other people, I did them FOR ME! I haven't used anyone's designs as inspiration, I was on ebay looking for some crafty bits, came across some buttons and decided I'd jazz my crutches up a bit. You're not the first to decorate your mobility aids! Shockingly I've also stuck diamante beads on them, I do hope that's ok!

Lovely comments to come back to...

I've had a hideous sick bug for the last week but finally able to use a screen again and have eaten a whole piece of toast today! :)

Sorry, used all energy up trying to trace original comments about my crutches... Will try and catch up later :) Hope all as well as possible!

Also, you'd think that the fact I made them with a "problem" would prove I wasn't copying your design surely?!

I really can't believe that you were the first person, ever, to stick buttons onto crutches... So it's not YOUR original design!
And you've already pointed out that you don't use big buttons. I did, therefore it is not the same.

Decorating mobility aids is not on the list above, and if you were really that sorry, you wouldn't keep trying to claim it wasn't you that wanted to post this. You made the decision to do so, and now you have to deal with upsetting people. I'll take the freaking buttons off my crutches and go back to having boring ones if that would make you happy. Thanks.

Invasion I am truly sorry if I upset you and maybe I could have worded it differently but as I said earlier I was acting on advice given to me.

I really didn't want to upset anyone but what was I supposed to do? I was following the legal advice given to me. I'm terribly upset over all of this and can barely function at the moment. Again, I'm sorry for upsetting you x

  • Debbie. I think it's a bit of a storm in a teacup. Please do continue to contribute; you never know who you may be able to help. I do hope you are not as upset as you sound. You haven't done anything wrong in my opinion.

No wonder I have been feeling so carp - turns out I have glandular fever *sigh*.

Frankly, Debbie, you can only copyright the details of your particular design. People have been sticking buttons and other things onto walking sticks for decades, so you cannot claim you came up with that idea. Quit harassing our youngest thread member.

You've copyrighted your designs. That's just it. You did not design Invasion's stick art. And you are being aggressive, albeit passive-aggressive, and it's stressing me out just to read it and I'm not even an integral part of this argument!

Trialia, it only has to show a 'striking similarity' to be classed as infringement. Forget it anway. I've had enough.

    And moving on .............

    Indeed.

So, somehow, I've managed to trash a second pair of shoes this year. I must have a weirder walk than I thought - this pair? Had three-inch heels (I was wearing them because my previous ones both have holes in them & I needed some that didn't, but ow), and somehow, the right heel has been ground down to just one inch. The left is as it was when I bought them. I didn't realise my scoliosis did that to that extreme, minor as it is.

Anyway, took 'em in to get repaired today, and the guy told me that I'd either have to get a new heel block, which would cost £35, or get the left heel ground down to match the right and have them re-soled, which would cost £9. Naturally, I chose the latter, but goodness, they feel a bit weird to walk on right now. Hoping that will ease off once I get used to it.
