Lol Jojo...I get that too from the other boys!

When my boys see my back is playing up, they will immediately come and rub it for me, or like last night, help me out of my seat to a standing position....but then at other times, they appear completely oblivious.

Anyway good news! Dad came home from hospital last night, he is a little unsteadier than before on his feet and his speech is still a little flat and mechanical but when I saw him yesterday, he had a ghost of a smile, not quite a full smile but enough to make me feel positive that it will come in time. He is still quite frail, something which is harder to deal with as dad has always been a power house of a man, full of energy and vitality despite already having a disability.... it never stopped him from doing anything, even the jive with my mum (although they had to adapt it to allow a walking stick!)

He could be back in hospital on Monday, they are looking to do an operation to unblock the blockage in his carotid artery (around 90% occluded) on Tuesday but they will be having discussions and looking at his MRI from yesterday over the weekend and weighing up the benefits and risks before they make a decision.

But at least he was home for my birthday which is now going to be a very low key affair...we had planned to all go out tonight for a meal to celebrate but there is no way he is up to that but him being out of hospital and ok ish is the best birthday present I could have asked for.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

SingleSue I wish you a very Happy Birthday; also hoping that your Dad recovers well enough to jive again soon. (What an image - jiving with a walking stick!:D)

Lol thanks LW..think their jiving days are well and truly over as mum is not up to it anymore and with dad not being so steady on his feet now.

Well, not a bad birthday in the end yesterday...got round to my parents and somehow mum had managed to decorate the house with balloons and banners, the family friend had made a birthday cake and of course, dad was there.

Our original plan of all going out for a birthday meal had to change for obvious reasons but my parents insisted me and the boys still went out and gave me the money to cover it (they were going to pay for the meal for all of us originally), so off we went to a very posh restaurent last night where youngest had ministry of funny noises the whole time, poor begger is so unsettled as his rountine has gone completely to pot over the last week. It was still enjoyable though...think I must have got used to the noises!

I do hope he gets the outcome he needs. I wish him a speedy recovery. Hope you had a nice birthday.

Another late birthday wish Singlesue, Im glad your Dads back home and hope he recovers well. Hows the ankle now ?
I've had a few hectic days so havnt been able to get online much. Im now paying for it so Im going to have to have a lazy day or 2. Serves me right, it's been lovely getting out and about in the sunshine though.

I've just had a text from a friend asking me to meet for coffee in town and I've had to turn her down as everything hurts so much and I seem to have seized up

I'm thinking some of you may be interested in this article - research on capsaicin and pain, possibility of a new form of medication for fibromyalgia and similar conditions.

Hello everybody, I haven't been on much the last couple of weeks, other than feeling rotten etc etc I've had problems with my computer keyboard - had to buy another which put me back £305 (one handed keyboard) and that was without VAT which I'm lucky I was exempt because I am receipt of DLA!

Anyway, I've been trying to catch up reading the last few pages and oh boy, some of you have been having a terrible time!

Singlesue, I hope things are a little better for you now and that your dad is ok. Hope you have been to see the doc about YOUR problems! Belated Birthday wishes to you, ;) sorry you didn't have the best of Birthdays!

LW, belated Birthday wishes to you too.;)

suep, sorry about your troubles, hope things get better for you. Hope you've got over those hectic days and you had a restful day yesterday! Oh and how's your friend ... the rat?!

Hope everyone has an ok day.;)

Hi Tobruk good to see you back, Mr Rat has decided that he doesn't like his bird food coverd with cayenne pepper , I've not seen him since :D I think the new bird feeders helped too as it has a rim around the edge and makes less mess.
Still no good news to report, Im just trying to stay positive and drinking lots of lemon balm tea, which is a great anti-depressant.

    Hope everyone else is ok
