  • Nope, nothing yet, unfortunately. Been bit busy, as x ray has shown fragments of bone scattered about the back of my ankle. If it's an old injury, it's been missed at least 5 times by the same hospital. If it's new, I've done it on the stairs. (Mind you, if it's old, I've done it on the stairs as well). So I asked to be referred somewhere else because, if I have bits of bone floating around, I would rather they were removed pretty sharpish! They would then have to tell council that I am being prevented from having surgery, something I wouldn't be so embarrassed about telling the local paper.

I've been having trouble sleeping for ages, morag. I think it's got something to do with the light bulbs, as the light just seems 'wrong' now, other than where I've got halogens, where it just seems like there's a compact nuclear explosion in the room!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and my mum came along for support. My mum kept asking for more help for me, and I then I asked for some blood tests - I had some ages ago, but I recently read that they can change, and also that the ones doctors do are basic - but there are more they could do. My doctor got really stressed at me, and said you have had tests! You've had X-Rays, Blood Tests, MRIs...

Um, except I've had one MRI I haven't had the results for yet, never had X-Rays and I had one small set of blood tests and a few years ago by a doctor that wasn't her. God, so many tests. I don't really mean tests by that, but investigations. I just think there are so many illnesses it could be - why aren't they looking into them? No matter how much I ask, no one has done the 18 trigger point test for Fibromyalgia. They've ruled out athritis etc, and Fibro is a process is ruling out everything else - why won't they diagnosis me with it? Why am I in this limbo?

My mum also kept asking about the amount of pain, and my doctor was just like oh, we will keep playing about with medications. The thing is - I am always the one to come up with new stuff, she only ever tries anti-inflammatories, which do not make any difference at all. They just cause more pain, as I have to come off the top-up of ibuprofen to take them.

I'm on the highest of tramadol and co-dydramol, and she's said she can't put me up any higher as the next step are morphine-based.

The next thing she wants to try is to refer me to a chronic fatigue specialist, as she thinks pacing might help. But usually she's nagging at me to exercise more! It doesn't make sense.

She's been my doctor since I was a baby, and has always been good to me - but she's not really helping on this issue.

Sorry for the rant! I was supposed to get my MRI results yesterday, but my appointment was cancelled. :(

  • Morning friends.
I can't keep posts straight in my head, but suffice to say that all those who are having a rough time, you have my hugs and support and yay to those who have good news. Sorry it's a bit of a cop out :o(

Had really frustrating appointm, ent with Rheumi. He's great - listened AND heard me, but most problems are just down to my various illnesses. Can't go on immuno-suppresants as am allergic to all tried and if he raises chemo dose he worries that I'll prove to be allergic to that as the one I'm on is the only one I've been able to tolerate.
He did say he would give the Neuro a prod to get possibility of MS looked into quickly and CTS operation speeded up though. He's not convinced my costochondritis is that, he thinks it's spasms of muscles in my sternum as my breast bone is very prominent and tender, so has advised I don't do the hydrotherapy course I've just been referred for. Shame.
So all in all a frustrating time.
However, I am on one-say photography course on Saturday so that's something to look forward to.

I remember someone mentioned the daylight bulbs I got recently. In terms of being able to se clearly without setting off photophobia, they are brilliant. I don't know if I've noticed any uplift in mood from SAD, but it can't do any harm.
I got mine in the market very cheaply compared to some I've seen - about £3.90 each. Energy saving daylight bulbs are about £6.00.

Dad is starting to pick up thank goodness. Still has some bad days and depression has set in which complicates things slightly, but he's not frightening us any more which is great.
Am trying to stay upbeat in terms of mood and make sure I have a little something to look forward to which is one thing I've identified that helps me quite a lot.
Hugs to everyone and I'll come back and make more tea and sticky buns later.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

    Hi!

I haven't been around for a few days now as everything was awful after I stopped the steroids. Anyway I am back on stronger steroid inhaler and trying to motivate myself to keep moving. Doesn't help having a depressed DH here all the time... and DS2 is waiting to hear if he still has a job at the end of the month.. And.. we are taking our old dog to be put to sleep this afternoon.. I don't want to go with DH but he is bad enough as it is so I will have to go too. I guess our black dog is about to get worse wth the demise of our 'black dog'.
