Do we have a name for Littl'un yet?
Welcome Cydney, and I'll second what BZ said, the only thing you're not allowed to do here is apologise.
Oh flip, there was a load I was going to say, and my mind's gone blank.
*goes away to re-read posts*.......
BZ imho that is just NOT ON that your MIL isn't getting her bedtime meds - I take it the problem is that it's kept in the fridge? That poor woman has been through enough; I hope the situation improves for her soon -either getting the stuff at the right time in the hossy, or being allowed home.
PCL and Morag I think it's true to say that you never stop missing them; the way I look at it is that while they live on in your heart, they're not truly gone.
Bevan good luck with the skills test thingy. I'd be a gibbering wreck if that was me!LOL
I've had a busy morning - pubs officer from local CAMRA wanted some info from the Beer Scoring database I maintain, so spent a couple of hours sorting that for him; I have yet to do a report for the Pagan Federation meeting (a colleague is going to take it and read it for me, as I can't travel to London for the meeting). And the best bit is that I'm still having to type one-handed.:rotfl: And now Mr LW has decided we'll go to the cinema tonight (Cheapie Tuesday in MK), and the film starts at 18:50, so I have to be ready to go the second he gets home!
I may well be LATE getting online tomorrow......:rotfl:
Meantime, there's home-made cheese straws if anyone cares to try them; first time I've made them.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Ooh, cheese straws!
I'm wasting time on here engaging in battle on another thread, which is keeping me off this one, it makes me so angry I'm shaking!
Hope all is well0 -
Can I join in on hear as I love Cheese straws! and worn out and tired and its only 3.30...0
-
Cheese straws please... and hot chocolate with virtual brandy and a snooze by the ever-welcoming cafe fire.
We're getting ready for the real handbell concert in Milton Keynes on Saturday afternoon 5th December. All welcome.. especially Lame Wolf. Can guarantee the air doesn't turn blue... unless we drop the base bell, which would be £2,000 to replace.eek0 -
Hi JFKS, you've very welcome to join us.
M.E lovely to see you; long time no see, hope you're OK. The hand-bell concert sounds great!
Invasion step back from the battle, sit down and relax for a bit.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
bz good luck with the LL - glad you are making some progress, allbeit too slow  hope the dozy nurses wake up to the importance of background insulin, no wonder you are worried.
I seem to have fallen off a cliff since the clocks changed, no get up and go - so I have neither got up nor goneThis is nothing new for me, GP thinks SAD but we are both reluctant to mess with my existing meds cos every time we do I start having panic attacks again, which is far worse. Do the daylight bulbs work any one?
And has anyone had the swine flu jab yet? I've got mine on wed and I hate hate hate needles
I know what you mean about since the clocks went back too. I've basically made myself get up and take DH to work (so I could have the car for physio) and made myself stay up so I'd see some daylight, and hopefully as a result be sleepier at night... I'm wondering about the daylight bulbs too... Cwta got some recently, so I'm waiting for a review
Not had the swine flu jab, not convinced I want it tbh. I'm not convinced that it'll be all that effective and I usually come down with a fever and whatnot with any jab I have, so I'm worried about my reaction to it. I am booked in for the seasonal flu jab, but could only get an appt in December so I'm not even sure there's a point?:oBZ imho that is just NOT ON that your MIL isn't getting her bedtime meds - I take it the problem is that it's kept in the fridge? Invasion - I understand why you're stressed with the other postings. All I can say is don't let it get to you and come back here
Bigzippy - I felt the same as you about the flu jabs. Then the boyfriend went down with swine flu when he was at his mum's doing her kitchen flooring. He has been ill for a fortnight so far. He went straight on Tamiflu because he has quite bad asthma.
After the first 7 days, he phoned me and he - a fully grown man - was sobbing that he hurt so much. On day 9 a doctor came out to see him from his mum's GP practice and prescribed him 3 different antibiotics for a secondary chest infection.
He says his hair hurts, his eyelashes sting and his b**** feel like they've been kicked halfway around the block and back again. He is exhausted moving from the bed to the bathroom and back. Every lymph gland feels like a conker, according to him.
His breathing sounds better now, but the Tamiflu (which the doctor went and picked up for him) is now making him sick. He is sleeping about 21 hours out of 24, as compared to his usual 5 hours a night. He's still in no fit state to do anything, even lift a full mug of tea. A couple of really healthy friends have also had it and they think he's got about a month of feeling rotten to go once he can actually get up and go out for ten minutes, assuming he doesn't catch anything else in the meantime. He's even talking about putting me on his insurance as a learner, so I can drive the car for him until he can do it!
He was waiting for an appointment for the flu jabs. Unfortunately, the seasonal flu one wasn't ready at the time he went to his mum's, so he is still potentially able to catch that one as well.
I feel guilty, but I was so glad he got it when he was down his mum's, as I don't have to worry about DDs or myself catching it from him.
I usually remain standing as all drop like flies around me (that's the overactive immune system for you - cheers RA, doing something useful for a change) but I don't want to take a chance with it if this is what it can do to a fully grown bloke.
My doctor has managed to schedule us in for flu jabs for next week. Hopefully we can avoid it until then.
And perhaps a call to the head honcho endocrinologist regarding the likelihood of a Serious Untoward Incident as a direct result of refusing medication would elicit a more satisfactory response? Followed up with emails to the hospital legal department and chief executive and PALS team?
OK. Tired now. Going to crash soon, as long as I can be bothered to get up and go to bed.
xxxI could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

welcome JFKS, and nice to see you back M.E. :beer:PCL and Morag I think it's true to say that you never stop missing them; the way I look at it is that while they live on in your heart, they're not truly gone.
For me, thinking I see or hear them or coming in expecting to be greeted and then realising, is worse than missing them. Thankfully it lessens and then goes in timeHope you enjoyed the film.
