LilacPixie don't worry about keeping up; we all of us go awol at times if we're under the weather. I hope you're lots better - that sounds really nasty. Take care of yourself.

Cheers Paw; I have a 'puter program that turns photos into cross stitch patterns.;) It took me an absolute age to do the stitching, though.:o

  • Shop is done! It was quite expensive, but I needed everything...kitchen towel, toilet roll, eggs...stuff that we don't usually need every week, but haven't had hear yet. Treated myself to cake ingredients, and the boyfriend drinks 7 pints of milk a week, which gets expensive! Keeps him healthy, though.
Uni are getting my work together now, they'll post it asap, so I can't wait to get. Very bored now though, an hour til boyfriend comes back!
Little sister is at the mop tonight...she was so looking forward to going, I hope she has a nice time.
My back is still killing...anyone up to anything nice?

Back from work, gah, I'm so exhausted. It's a busy little job.

Saucy - do you have housemates? Do any of them have a car by any chance? You could see if there is something like a cash and carry near you, to buy a large quantity of things like loo roll.

Also - if you do have housemates, we found it very useful at the beginning of the year to all bung a tenner in each, and then buy all the household goods out of that. That way, it wasn't the same old people buying it all the time, and others getting away with putting money in.

Sorry if these tips weren't needed! I finished my degree this year, so it's all still fresh in my mind.

Realized that I only own five t shirts since the move last week, which is a bit curious. Will have to get some more when I can afford them...I don't own a single jumper, either!
Has anyone got any suggestions for crafty things that are worth the money then? I'd love to keep busy.
My back hurts so much....I had hoped my uni work would have arrived today, as they posted it a while ago, but it hasn't :(
Ok - as for the clothing, I really would suggest getting some stuff that's gonna be comfy and warm. You don't wanna be going out and getting chill after chill cos you'll just get iller and iller. Try Primark for a bit of a stock up, or Peacocks/Select/New Look, or the supermarket clothes lines for cheaper stuff, or of course eBay's an option. Can turn into a bit of a hobby too ;)
Crafty things, you'd need to pick a thing you wanna do - whether it be making cards or whatever it is - first, then think about what you'd need to do it and then source the stuff. I would suggest, while money's tight, that you pick something that you can use the end product of...like Christmas cards, or something you could give as a present at Christmas?
As for the uni work, can they not email you the stuff? That would be an awful lot quicker and easier than posting?

    Wot she said :)
And lw...fancy sharing that program? I was looking for something like that a while back!

What about baking? There's loads of threads and stuff on MSE with recipes and meal ideas for cheap meals and you could make tasty stuff for you and boyf and feel like you're contributing and less like you're burdening boyf??

  • im almost sure i bought a program to do that but never figured out how to use it. i really want to do a cross stitch of whitney and have intended to for a good fw years now. likewise i keep meaning to scan my one picture of previous cat before something happens to it and would like to turn it into a cross stitich too. must have a looksie see if i can find it...i asusme it is fool proof easy to use?

im not even going to attermpt to comment on anything else as i am tired and grumpy and really ought to go wash dishes and put laundry away before house fairies come in the morning.
