Come on in, Thrifty Sister, pull up a chair, grab a coffee/tea/beverage of choice and make yourself comfortable.

Hot wheaten bags available for all those with achey backs and joints *wags finger at Jaz, Dragon and CwtA who have obviously been overdoing it*.

Thanks everyone who asked, the sofa did indeed arrive; I'll do a pic when I have a suitably cute furry visitor to photograph on it; you'll be able to see the new throw I bought, as well then.:D (Tbh I don't have the energy to muck about with the camera right now).

Today I've washed a top and a dress that both had to be done by hand in cold water, sliced up some home-grown toms for freezing, cleaned the patio door and adjacent window, and done some of my cross stitch; I'm cream crackered now, so if anyone wants me, I'll be in my basket with a very large vodka and tonic.;)

ETA Sorry to hear about Dr Dragon's shoe - what a naughty furry! I still reckon he's teething.

welocme thrifty sister, plenty of room for another.

mousey dont remember you being grumpy?
  • Thanks guys for the welcome. Am sitting by the radiator with coffee in hand - feeling a bit sorry for myself so gonna get me some choccy as well.

Suep the national forecast on Classic FM this morning said it'd be a good weekend, so fingers crossed.

Actually, I hope it does stay nice - if I'm up to it, I'd like us to get a bit of tidying done in the garden.

The Furry Dragon (tm) is out of puppy peniteniary and is curled up next to me - luckily the shoes were not expensive (we have some £70 Timberland leather trainers!) but we need to stop him thinking that shoes are chew toys (and yes any time in the next month he will start to lose his puppy teeth).

Meanwhile pass me another large mug of tea and I will start making steak and ale pie and cheese and onion pie (both to be had with buttery mash, veg and suitable gravy!) ready for tonight. Unless someone else has an idea? (I was thinking fish and cips with tempura veggies and chips for the Vegetarians amongst us! These would be served with vinegar, tartare sauce, mayonnaise and Champagne)
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

*puts several bottles of Champagne to chill* I don't think I've ever had tempura, so I'd love to give it a try.

Mr LW's working late tonight, so I'm lurking around here for want of anything better to do (and carefully ignoring the housework that needs doing LOL)
