Hi Daisy, yes that's right, we bought some shares (similar to but not exactly timeshare) for the children - they were a silly price at the time (the shares not the children, they cost a fortune  ) but they've never used them so I get some lovely free hols. I've taken the train, driven and flown down, TGV is definitely much the best. Only 15km from Agen which I can get to direct from Calais.
Not had a brilliant day, some issues I can't deal with so I'll slip off to bed and hope my dear old Mum's wise words are true to form as usual..'sleep on your problems, don't try to sort them out when you're tired'.
So pleased to see it's going to be a virtual pain-free sanctuary, do us all good
Night all and take care

Hmm, nice place. We need to get a Remoska in to replace the George grill though, more versatile for baking cakes/roasting chicken & veg etc. Don't know about you but I get peckish...
Is there a grassy area round the back as I'll be bringing my Assistance Dog and he needs somewhere to 'busy'? Sorry about the muddy paw prints on the duvet (you should see the state of my real world bedspread). He gets plenty of exercise on Facebook, running a working dog news service as 'Behinderhund' and socialising around the Service/Assistance Dog groups. Feel free to be Friends if you're there.
Will pop back tomorrow and introduce myself properly. If you think reality makes sense, you're just not paying attention!0 -
Good morning playmates, 'tis a lovely sunny day today so I've set the tables out on the grassy area at the back, over looking the stream, so Dancing Dragon's dog can have a play while we nibble. What's your dog's name, DD?I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Hello all
Still in dressing-gown - have you a dress code in the cafe, if so I can't come in! Need a strong coffee and a Cornish pasty.
I felt so tired earlier. So, so tired, I can't tell you how much. Stuff going round and round in my head in the night - like how close I came to being a widow for the second time - so I went back to bed. Have had to get up though, our builder from 2 doors down came to see our bathroom with a view to replacing the shower cubicle and a better-quality loo. Can do it, starting next Monday! Approx £2K. Problem with existing one is: it's a step-in not a walk-in and with a stiff knee DH will have difficulty with it. Now, you can get a 'low-profile' shower tray with 40 mm clearance, a bigger drainage hole so it doesn't flood, and a curved shower cabinet with no dangerous corners.
I cannot believe in that hospital. I asked them about this when the physios and rehab team were there yesterday. They haven't started on DH yet - he's been on his back since last Monday, more than a week now, but I am thinking ahead and looking at what may need doing. Was told 'It's hospital policy' that if you can have a strip-wash that would be OK. And if they sent in daily carers, that's all they would do. I asked how long. Well, you can do it indefinitely, for rest of life if need be!!
I said 'I don't give a stuff what hospital policy is, it's our lifestyle we're talking about here, and a shower is what we do daily'. The OT lady admitted that 'she wouldn't like it for herself'. So why imagine that we would? Just 'cos DH has silver hair and I have wrinkles? grrrr!Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Hi everybody:hello: may I join you? Tea,milk no sugar please. I'm epileptic, OH has a number of conditions (can't spell most of 'em!) but like everyone else in the cafe we get on with it and get by between us.
He's going into hospital next month for a knee replacement and is very nervous ( mainly cos he watched an op on telly) but I keep telling him he'll be fine, hopefully he'll believe that soon and be able to sleep.Sealed Pot Challenge member 28

Hello, may I join you? I have lupus and a fair range of the associated conditions. Black coffee (no sugar) and a slice of carrot cake would be nice.:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
