Ooo Venice, I like Venice...
I'm sulking as I have to go back to work on Monday. Time I got a new job methinks.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
I remember Venice - expensive coffee shops and the gondolas were massively expensive too:rolleyes: Still I loved the Murano with all its glass - I would go back if I had the chance. Oh I'd kill for an amaretti biscuit:rotfl:
I have been busy today - the tree is down and packed away along with all the decorations. I need to do some washing up and get the dinner ready - it might be spag bol or it could be cottage pie (I can't decide which). I bought myself some Remoska pans - a shallow one and a separator one and they need to be washed, my lakeland sale goodies have been put away as they will be used as birthday and christmas presents.
Welcome to our cafe Morag - it is great here, we have a virtual roaring log fire, virtual pets (just shift the cats off the sofa), we sometimes upsticks to a beach and we even have a virtual spa to go with the virtual fattening food:D
Please may I have a hot chocolate with marshmallows - no cream today I am cutting down:D
Ally - I meant to ask how are your new teeth? Have they settled in yet?0 -
Hello everyone, hope you're enjoying your day whatever you're doing. Just a nice big mug of tea and a biscuit for me please. I've a few chores lined up for later.
Morag, I think this must be the safest place on MSEand well done on getting the better of the techy bit
Enjoy Venice ME, and look forward to hearing about your trip. I'm sure you'll bring back lots of amaretti biscuits for us
lucy, here's hoping the lurgy goes away very soon. keep warm!
I like the menu Dragon, I'll be back later for chili. hope you're free of the lurgy soon too.
Ally, shame about work, but I know from experience that if you have a job that you enjoy it never feels so bad having to go there;) so maybe you'll find something you like better
Horace, can I ask if your remoska separator was on special? I bought a remoska a couple of months ago and hardly used it yet because I've not been up to snuff. Might find it out and use it today.
catch you all later... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Unfortunately neither the shallow pan nor the separator were on special offer:rolleyes: I decided that I needed them and just went ahead and bought them. I love my moska, I use it all the time except when I have Lidl pizza because their pizzas are too big and have to be done in the main oven.
Using the moska is easier than the oven because it is either on or off which is what I like about it and it uses less power. Hope you feel up to using it soon as it is just fab:D0 -
Horace have you got your wedding planner certificate yet?
M.E Venice is really lovely but as another said, expensive. Still well worth going.
Dragon lovely menu, curry for me plese.
For all those on the lemsip, hope you all feel better soon.
Just an idle thought, those who have the lurgy, did you have a flu jab at the doctor's?:smileyheaMagenta0 -

Yes, thanks. They're almost as good as the real thing. I can't eat shreddies yet though...Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Re the lurgy - no I didn't have the flu jab, Dr Dragon did and he is feeling carp as well!
Just had brunch (yes late I know!), and my 2nd cup of tea (aaaah tea smashing!), and I am thinking of ideas for the menu for today, any preferences folks?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Magenta - I hate to say it but I haven't got my wedding certificate yet:rolleyes: I have been too lazy to write up or even submit my remaining assignments, I know what I want to write but haven't commited anything to paper yet, plus I have been waiting for some quotations to come through which I have now got:j I need to crack on with them because I do need this certificate and I am already thinking of doing another one in Event Planning.
See - I am being honest about the laziness, I can be incredibly lazy:eek:0 -
Well the entrance to the cafe is sprinkled with snow. Snow White!
So the 7 dwarfs are visiting today?. Competition with the cafe elves perhaps.
My goodness there are a lot of lurkers with the lurgy.
We still have the cough and sneezes in our household. Daughter is trying to finish her essay but is really not a very well person.
We are hoping that our Venice trip with be fun, we are both still under the weather but on the road to recovery.
The cafe has a plentiful supply of warm quilts and huggable pillows so you are welcome to curl up by the virtual fire and watch the snow drifting outside.
Hot coffee for me.0 -

...
Well, I'm Dopey this morning (no change there then)
Hope those with the lurgies are on the road to recovery and those of us without lets hope we stay that way
Latte and a piece of shortbread for me this morning please, I missed my usual christmas shortbread this year.
I think a curry would go down well today - a sweet mild beef curry for me, and of course chicken and vegetable available too.
Or is it a pastry day, sometimes I just need pastry!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure ........... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
