Well I hope you are right. Until 5 mins before posting, I had always interpreted it like you.
But then that makes nonsense of the bit I highlighted in red.

We could just go round and round in circles on this.

The bit in red implicitly refers to instant access accounts, and the next two sentences describe different types of account: notice and fixed term respectively. That's the only way to make sense of it in my view. The last sentence is absolutely clear. The whole thing is fully consistent with what FSCS are now saying.

I have just moved two lots of £10.000 from KE,one from my account and one from my wifes into cahoot with no problem?

Well this system message sits on the first page of cahoot's logged in screen, and it is still there on my account's first screen.

    24 Oct 2007
    type: system message
spacer.gif Deposits into Current and Savings accounts: The maximum amount that you can transfer into your cahoot current or savings account via your pre-arranged direct debit facility is £5,000. Please contact us if you need more information on alternative deposit methods. This limit applies only to this service and does not affect any other deposit or withdrawal methods

Did you use the linked account DD method i.e. instigated from KE account or a standard BACS transfer? I must say I have never dared try and exceed the limit in case it all got lost in bank ping-pong.

Edit: I've just had another look at the Cahoot account. I think money transfers out of KE, although it uses a single linked account, doesn't use DD. Unlike Icesave, which did have a linked DD. The last time I was transferring from one savings account to another it was out of Icesave to KE (Thank God!), so the 5k limit still applied. It will still be true for me if Icesave money is tried to be paid to my linked cahoot account. using DD.

Don't have an Isa in Icesave have fixed rate savings 6 & 12 months so yes I do want it back in my current account. :j

You can get them, according to current speculation, when
    1) they mature or
    2) 3,6,(9?) whenever months with less interest after they mature. If the interest gets added on.

    Whichever is later.

Note that stuff, that matures before FSCS/Gubbmint get their thumbs out their rear ends, will earn a pittance.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

  • I know that - but people are putting the information on the Icescam website and you'd be sure to see it there. Then you can go to the link to read it.
