Great news, Bob - DD2 being signed off like that must be such a weight off your back, lovely. And the agency, of course! I missed lots in here while I was in London!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Thanks everyone, it has made a huge difference not only time management wise, but also the fact that the struggle has been worth it..i can't thank the staff at the NHS enough..bloomin wonderful folk. And DD2 has been very brave throughout it all, this last year has been very difficult for her with the diabetes being diagnosed on top of her bowel condition..and noone would want to go through the tests she has been through at 17, not nice for a young lady...:o

And on the debt busting front.

We won £10 on the lottery last night, never won for ages...well you have to buy one! So we felt lucky and managed a £1.:rotfl:
Just had the electric and gas bill (online) and we are over £70 in credit, after taking readings we will be owed even more..so getting that back:j That is the second time this year, so all the savings tips work really well..and even though i have had fire on i haven't had central heating on:cool: So the DD payment can be reduced as well, currently pay about £71 for the dual fuel..oo can't wait. I have had a look around for cheaper tarrifs and can't find one, as we capped a while back and prices are very good:D

Am considering the A+L bank account at the moment through Quidco..so want to ring them on Monday as in the employment section it has got me a bit muddled as no section for agency work, and i don't want to write one address down, when there are 4 and any private work i can manage:rotfl: :o
I have been with the Natwest for years, but a 0% overdraft option appeals, even if i don't use it:D

Yesterday we had a trip out to Skipton's bargainous market with DD2 as she had some vouchers she wanted to spend and we love it there..I managed to get my Grans Christmas present..she has tiny feet and wanted slippers..at a size 2-3 it is hard work to buy suitable gran ones..Had a good old mooch and just enjoyed myself..dinner out was with vouchers as well, so the lottery money paid for that:rotfl:

So that is me for the weekend. Hope you all have a good one, i am now off to wash etc..did i tell you they are a dirty lot in my house?:rotfl: May even manage a walk in the rain:D

  • Not sure about a walk in the rain lol!! Good with mooch and cheapie meals out etc - always feels virtuous!

  • It was just fine rain, and i kept getting side tracked by neighbours wanting a natter..

On the debt busting front..another 5 books listed on amazon, and a bit of juggling with finances should see me through the rest of the month..toying with the idea of another bank account and had a word with them today, no problems but i am going to think until the end of the month..

Have cooked up a few things and have lots in until the end of the month, have a bit of wiggle room in the budget and am also thinking of buying bulk items and just keeping ahead on those. Bargain find of the day is sugar for 59p in cheapo shop..Tate and Lyle. I use it in cake baking..whizz it up in blender and is very fine, saves a fortune when making cakes, and is great in all my baking. Have delicious soup in slow cooker, lentil and carrot..slurppp, and a HM loaf in breadmaker. So should keep me out of mischief for the rest of the day.

Other bits..went to tax office so have tax code and make sure i don't get stiffed on the tax again, told them about my one miserable mystery shop and they said i just need to write in so they have it on record..as it was for the grand sum of £10..

What else, gave neighbour a lesson on changing suppliers, as there is only her and she is paying £100 a month for gas and electric, she works shifts and i reckon is hardly ever in..robbing gits..

Oh and i paid my car tax online..so simple and no hunting out docs, standing in queue or forgetting something..going to do this all the time now, so hae to take money out of that pot and transfer it into my account..no charges if pay by switch either. So whilst not a no spend day, i have saved by not paying for car parking and queueing until i drop dead from exhaustion.

Hope you all have a good day, amd off to check on betfair offer i have recieved..oh yes i can feel a foray into match betting..but don't hold me to it!

What beat the maestro:eek: never..i get exhausted just thinking about poor Hypno's day:o

I am rather chuffed with DD2's news as well..haven't stopped smiling since i heard. I know it sounds silly but all the trips to Manchester did get to me a bit and when she was transferred to MRI (St Mary's bit)where she was as a baby, well it brought it all back with a thump..so am very pleased to say the least:T

That is lovely isn't it, about your DD.... I'm still envying your home baking day - it sounds wonderful, I can smell all the lovely flavours from here.... toss us a bit, go on.....

My new pasta maker is still shiny.... spare time is spent on doing the Accounts, but at least I'm doing them. But I got a letter today from my French accountant, wanting 2008 accounts by 24 November 2008.... I think I'm going to ring them, I could have sworn 24.11.2008 was *before* the end of the year 2008.... we'll see.
