If you friend was that metally challanged he shouldnt have been operating his own account
some people need to get a grip
Actually i found your comments inflammatory and extremely rude. My Mother is disabled and finds day to day things hard to do and that includes banking, so much so i had to give up work to look after her. So i recommend you keep your nasty opinions to yourself.0 -
Yes she may be disabled but does she use this as some lame excuse?, i doubt it.For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
The point being made by Basfordlad et al. is not that there's anything wrong with these people, simply that the terms and conditions of their accounts do not make allowances for their conditions.
That may be perceived as unfair, but if you take a step back and long from the wider view, there are going to be a lot of people in a similar situation - some with perhaps a more "legitimate" reason such as developed mental problems and some with the the reason that they're just terrible with money. Both of these groups need to be treated with the same policy to avoid any unnecessary losses or abuse.
Don't perceive it as a lack of sympathy, because that's not what it is - it is simply that accounts must be run in a certain way, and if they're not, action will be taken. It's not a personal judgment of anybody or their situation, it's just a bank policy. What would William Shatner do?0 -

That's a classic considering you work for the worlds favourite racist bank! :rotfl:0 -
I have an acount with the Co-OP. I have to say for me personnaly they have the best customer service going. Far better than 3 other banks I have banked with. I realise the original thread was along time ago now but if you phone the bank up about them closing your account they usually stop the closure and moniter it for a while, don't know how long. If the problem has been caused by DD then they will only agree to re instate the account with no DD allowed. I have to say though they have been more than fair with me.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

The fact that we did business in South Africa does not make us racist, nor does it mean we employed any sort of racist policies.
So perhaps you'd like to substantiate that comment with something... meaningful? What would William Shatner do?0 -

I assumed that your previous post was implying that black people were using racism as an excuse when complaining about bank "services". Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If I was correct in my assumption, then I merely saw the irony of your statement when considering that you do in fact work for Barclays.0 -
There is also the possibility that he is too young to remember, but even saying that I think I would have checked my history book before asking anyone to substantiate a statement about racism and Barclays.0
