Excellent - now they can compete with Play.com on a level playing field0

About time too.
Play.com have been offering the same items as Amazon at near identical prices for years, yet delivery was included at Play.com"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
Don't forget http://www.filleritem.com/uk.html if you need to spend a little more to get yourself to the free delivery level.0

The easiest way I've found to check is to enter the book title in bookbrain.co.uk and it gives you a list of retailers and prices, with book price and postage price as well as the total.
just tried this out. The only problem i can see with bookbrain is that it doesn't search Play.com and that it doesn't give prices on used books. But, if you need a new book and a range of prices it is superb. Thanks0 -
Amazon UK has just emailed to say that with immediate effect, the minimum spend to qualify for the FREE "SuperSaver" delivery is £5 -- not £15.
That's a helluva reduction, so I thought I'd post the news here.0 -
excellent thanks for posting xLife should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!0

I saw tht- then I clicked through to find you had to join an amazon savers scheme for £50 a year to get delivery of £5 a shot!
Suddenly didn't seem like such a good deal anymore...
Don't know what you are reading, but nowhere via the link I provided does it mention that! Also delivery is not £5 a shot on any of those 2, it is free delivery for items goods over £5 in value, for my post, and unlimited free delivery for the £49. Amazon Prime.
Looking at rockin_plumbers post above, the one you seem to be talking about is optional, ( Amazon Prime), and not what I posted, and by joining that it appears to me that delivery is free for any item for a full year, which is probaly OK if you order a lot of items under £5, but with the reduced £5 value that now qualifies for free delivery, there is pretty well no need to join the Amazon Prime.
Although maybe some benefits of Amazon Prime; -
Simple Shopping- No minimum purchases required.
- Members-only 1-Click buttons on item detail pages.
- No need to think about delivery charges when you order.
- Share benefits with up to four family members living in the same household.
Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
