    whats the Dtg site?

It's a website which lists software updates to be transmitted on the Freeview Engineering Channel. It is the method by which we will receive updates to our PVR's. See the link here and all will be explained.

New update now posted on the Dtg website for Monday 20 Feb through to Wed 22 Feb.

    Rgds, Welshman..

It's shown as provisional and no model numbers are listed for TechnoTrend so it may not actually happen.

Some posters did post that they had been told by the Key Electronics helpline that an update would be broadcast, they said originally on 5 Feb and this was later changed to 20 Feb. However, AFAIK this latter information was received about a couple of week ago. As there is only 4 days to go now and it is still showing as provisional on the DTG site my guess is that it won't happen. I'll be delighted to be proved wrong though.

  • i'd say that it aint over until the fat lady sings.
How often does the DTG website get updated????
  • I`m in the same boat as you guys, waiting patiently for the update. I`m keeping my ALDI reciept safe, if I don`t get sorted soon, i`m gonna take it back and get a topfield.
  • Mine is going back :-(

I thought it was worth posting it here too as I think its a biggy.
I've checked into this thread every week or so, and so I don't think this has been reported previously, so here goes:

It was set to record a program, eg. Desperate Housewives.
We go in the next day to watch the program, and: All of my previous recordings have gone. They did not re-appear after rebooting.

Instead of an entry for "Desperate Housewives", I have "Desperate Housewives", "Desperate Housewives #1","Desperate Housewives #2"..all the way up to "Desperate Housewives #27".

Each recording is indicated as being small, and when I go into play one of these entries the machine does what I can only describe as a 'crash from which it recovers': Nothing plays, the machine goes click, the screen goes black, and then I think it takes me back to the recordings list. This all happens in about 5 secs. Perhaps its not a crash, perhaps its playing a recording 0secs long, but that's not what the time bar suggests.

This is happened a couple of times now, and so fortunately I had also recorded "Desperate Housewives" on VCR, otherwise I'd have been made to sleep in the shed, again!
Needless to say the 'spouce acceptance' factor of this gadget is zero.

I might as well hang on until the OTA update (if it does actually go ahead on the 20th), but I've just about had it with this box. As I haven't seen this problem mentioned elsewhere I can't see how the next update is going to fix it.

For all the time and frustration I might as well have bought a Topfield.

Well, folks, we've been away for a week and I set the 101 to record up to the full 15 timers. And....they're all there, exactly as planned! The ones I watched last night were perfect. So our machine's record functions seem to be in order.

If only the next update solves the infuriating 'No Signal' problem, we'll be happy here. OH may even come to like it!

That's reassuring. Did you leave the unit switched on or in standby? Recording for me has been perfect when left switched on but my unit often lock-ups and recordings fail when set to standby.

I've always liked the Technosonic, but will obviously like it better if the No Signal problem is solved. I'm not to worried about the lock-ups in standby as it's low power consumption means it's no problem leaving it switched on.
