OH and when did they introduce convenient advert skipping features like the Technosonic has and did they ever get rid of that horrible blotchy background on the OSD's?

Ha ha! Touche! :silenced:
Ok Ok, the fusion 200 is not without it's flaws, the EPG graphics are horrendous, you lose any compressed programmes overnight (not that i use compression), there's a widescreen bug on ITV2 + E4, AND yes, the advert skipping button is pants, I'll give you that.
But... for 60 quid more than the pvr101 (I mean, come on, what sort of company calls their machine "101"?!?! :wall: they're ASKING for trouble!), you can get something a millions times more reliable, and about a hundred times better, and with 2 recording tuners.
Respect to all those that held out for the pvr101's update tho, much more patience than I have. Hope all the bugs are ironed out!

hmmm...I think the 63 pages of people complaining about the pvr101 on this forum are enough to get me rushing out to take it back. :dance:0 -
I bought the digifusion FVRT200 as direct replacement for the 101, and apart from the bubbled backdrop and annoying drop down synopsis on the EPG (use teletext instead for now/next) and the slowish menu, the best one I have had to date. Owned the 40 and 80 Sagems and the technotsosonic prior. Stuck a 3.5 AMP PSU on it as thought the 3 AMP was a little too hot. The only downer is audio sync in LP mode, keep having to stop and start to get it to sync up again. Don't bother now and do it in SP. Going to stick a 160GB drive in soon as it's full already...... A nice touch is that is displays the program title on the display, not very useful, but nice touch anyway.
Linked it up to a Samsung home theatre system and in Prologic 2 cinema mode, it actually splits it into 5.1 - amazing and awesome.... couldn't believe it....
Have had no lockups, lost recordings, no signals, noises etc... Shame about the 101, did look really smart and when it worked, it was pretty damn good.0 -

I must say I'm a little surprised that you have had 2 lock-ups in two weeks yet you still think the Humax 9200 is "pretty solid". I wonder if you would be so positive if those lock-ups had occured just after you had left for a two week holiday only to return to find that none of the 20 programmes you had scheduled to record had in fact been recorded. I'm afraid I expect a higher probability of success. I have much more faith in my 12 year old VCR.

I've been having some fun with my technosonic box. The first one didn't receive any channels, so took it back and swapped it. The new one worked beautifully for a while - the software is the same as my goodmans GDB3 receiver, which is the best freeview receiver I have had, so I had high hopes. Since then an audio and no signal fault seems to have got better after updating software and making sure the aerial had the strongest signal possible. When it works, this box is excellent. Yesterday my son tried to watch a video, and when the pvr turned itself on to record from standby the video picture disapeared and wouldn't come back even after turning the pvr off - and on. In the end I had to disconnect the scart lead and reconnect it a few times until it worked (I'll use a scart selector unit now). Am I right in thinking that I SHOULD be able to watch a video while it records? I think I will be taking it back for a refund some time soon, but very reluctantly because it has worked beautifully as a recorder. At least I know that I will use a pvr a lot. So now the decision between the Humax, Topfield and digifusion (which I have found on https://www.tribaluk.com for £156 inc delivery - anyone beat that?)
I like the idea of a searchable programme guide for a key word - can the digifusion and Humax do that?

I wonder if the next firmware update (6th - 9th Jan) will be v1.2 (or whatever) rather than a repeat of v1.1.
The dtg website has not yet been updated from 23rd Dec.
Look out for it just in case.

Just spoken to helpline and they are not sure whether this will be a different update, but possibly, probably worth hanging in a few more days just in case! What goes around - comes around

This update is schduled to be a repeat of 1.1 you can see this in the footnote on the DTG page.
Support are aware that 1.1 has not fixed all the "No Signal" problems, and they have passed this on, so there is every chance there will be another update. No idea when, but the Xmas break only finished today for most people.
Maybe we should draw up a definitive list of any other outstanding issues.
My PVR101 has been working reasonably well since the upgrade. I've had to re-boot is maybe two or three times for the NSR problem.0 -
I took the 101 back to aldi this morning and the manager seemed shocked and said mine was the first to come back and he didnt know there were any problems.
Well now with my refund I can put it towards something else... Ive ordered the Humax pvr9200t. Ive had good evperiances with Humax in the past as I have their dvd recorder which is great. So ill give this pvr a go as im pretty sure if there are any problems with it humax will get them sorted alot quicker than technosonic..0
