Man that's bad luck. I don't think I can go back to VCR. The binmen took all the tape a few days ago0 -

Thanks for the suggestion...there was one last ray of hope there... it was all ready boxed up to go back but I took it out and rigged it up again... but NO! PLS WAIT.0 -

There is a hit for this problem over at digitalspy:
2amp PSU issue
I guess if you switch it off and on twice in quick sucesssion the first switch on will start to spin the drive up (the highest load) and then the second power on will produce less load as the drive is already spinning, so the voltage won't drop quite so much and the logic board may be happier to start.0 -
Well, I've just spoken to a very helpful guy on the Technosonic helpdesk and given him my details etc.
Obviosly the OTA update is their first attempt at a fix, but I can't see it fixing my missing-tuner fault!
Anyway, it's logged now, in case it needs to be swapped out in January.

Searcher2 you were warned, pvr technologuy is still in its infancy, two years ago Fusion promised a Freeview dvd+hd combined, I think this is at least a year off still. UK digital tv is parochial and the big Japanese movers have little or no interest, so we will have to put up with back street Chinese manufacturere, employed by Brit entrepeneurs/ Marketeers who cannot tell a 13A plug from a USB plug, employing software engineeres who are thin on the ground, and therefore not the best. Most set top boxes have bugs, never mind pvrs.
THe PVR101 on air update is now between the 29th and 31st, not the 28th as mentioned. and is to cure the no sound on ITV.
Dont give up Loft join the fun, you can take yours back before 12 months is up and get your money back like I did with a Fusion at Argos. You would be advised to go for a Humax 9200 if you can afford it. Pace ( Sky+) , Humax and of course the expensive Topfield have the most pleased purchasers, and to seem to have good products. Fusion is one of the Pace founders, who has set up a rival firm a couple of miles down the road from Pace ( in Shipley) in Bingley, improving slowly.

like the others i got through yesterday to the helpline and the guy on the other end was brilliant.
he explained whats going to happen on the 29th eg software update and also took my adress for a replacement if it doesnt work.
other companys could learn from this guy on how to treat customers.
hopefully we will sort this soon!mmmm free stufffffffff0 -

I think it would, but I guess the scart output would need to be set to composite ratehr than RGB which may compromise the picture on your primary set. I don't know this for sure, so it would be worth checking if it takes RGB or composite input.
Of course maybe your run the PVR using composite already, in which case this is not an issue. You can look what you are using on setup menu.0
