OTA upgrade status on the DTA page has changed from "provisional" to "new". Hopefully a good sign the upgrade will happen.

  • Another fault? got home today and the clock was 1 hr slow, corrected when tuned to bbc 1 anyone else had this? ps whats the best time to get through to the helpline have tried for 3 days and can only get an engaged tone!
You'll just have to keep on trying as I did. When you do get through, be nice to the very patient guy on the phone as he's got a rotten job to do (and wish him Merry Christmas).

I've just (4:45pm) been on to the helpline and let them know about the No Signal problem and lost & recovered recordings. The gent on the end of the line said that swap outs could be expected towards the end of January. He doubted that the update on 29th would sort out the above problems; it appears to be aimed at resolving the no sound on ITV problem, although they might send something to address the other issues - we'll just have to wait and see.

As I've sussed out how to stop losing recordings and as the No Signal problem clears itself after a short period of time, 30 seconds to about 4 minutes, the alternate signal feeds I have will allow me to live with that until the end of January. I think the benefits of having a PVR over Christmas ouweighs the very slight inconvenience I'm experiencing - I'll just programme in all the recording I want to do, leave it alone and watch TV via another feed - I'm prepared to wait for the swap in January as I'm starting to find the machine is to my liking.

What's your solution to the lost recordings Eric. We've not lost any lately and timeshift is working fine as I type this. But I'd like more certainty over Xmas!
  • Well I got my Digifusion FRVT200 delivered today only two days after ordering online from Currys, so my Technosonic will be going back.

I think if the faults are fixed it'll be a great machine, it's just I'd rather pay that bit extra (well £60) for chaseplay, twin channel recording and other features on the Fusion. I only had chance for a quick play of the Fusion as I'm out of town for the night but from what I saw so far the user interface on the Technosonic is perhaps better and more intuitive than the more expensive Fusion I just bought. Like I say great machine if they get the bugs fixed, which it sounds like they might.

I bought a second Technosonic at the time for my dad which is unopened at present and was going back, but I might keep hold of it and see how things work out this next week regarding signal updates.
  • Got through to helpline today, told that the update is hoped to fix the common faults loss of signal etc and they will phone to check after xmas and arrange a swap out if not, if they are as good as their word and I have no reason to doubt it, then they could teach some other companies a thing or two!

    Hi

Would one of you please verify the helpline number please as I repeatly try the 01422 263 257 number only to get an engaged tone. No answer machine or queue. Is there another number?

I like to give my details for a swap out.

    Thanks in advance.

    Shovon,

That's the correct number. In my experience I hade engaged tone a few times then eventually got into a call queue, which then took a while to be answered.

Well my Fusion 200 came yesterday (for those of you who don't know I think I was the first MSEer with the 101 having bought my first on Wednesday 14th which had NO SIGNAL problems and swapped it for another on the Thursday for one which didn't recognise its own hard disk). I plugged in the Fusion 200 last night and it said 'PLS WAIT'. I did and nothing happened. Apparently it is a PSU issue so this one is going back..... I have now given up with PVR's as it seems I am destined not to own a working one. Back to the trusty VCR!

If you have difficulty getting through on the helpline number, try the office number on 01422 402010. I did and the lovely lady went and got me a technician who took my details.
Sorry if this has been already posted

Did you try unplugging it fron the mains and after a few minutes tying again. I had the same problem as you but after the second attempt all has been fine.
