    Just to remove a bit of confusion about previous posts.

    Just spoken to the Technosonic helpline (this morning) and told about my no sound on ITV and No Signal message.
    I was told that these are software problems and fix wil be transmitted on the 29th Dec 2005.
    If the problems are not fixed, then a new box will be sent (in the post I assume), but they will call me back first to see if upgrade has resolved the issues (need to register via help line first).

    The help line number seems to have disappeared!!
    Does anyone have an e:mail address I can use?I thought
    I had found one but it turned out to be a Canadian branch.

  • novice-saver: it's beginning to look as though the most dangerous condition in which to leave the machine is in standby - I too have lost programmes and suffered lockup after I'd left the machine in standby.

    I posted in 'another place':

    To prevent loss of recordings (and resurrection of deleted ones) try this:
    -- put machine into standby
    -- wait for hard-drive to spin down (listen for it, it takes about a minute)
    -- switch off

    and since adopting this technique I have had no such problems (but many of the machine's 'features' seem to occur at random so I might get more problems yet).

    I have now taken to never leaving the machine in standby.

  • jackson3: I don't know if they'll accept registrations by e-mail but their web-address is http://www.key-electronics.co.uk this is a list of contacts and their addresses thereon.

    I have had e-mails from the technical department but even they told me to register via the helpline.

    Helpline number is on page 32 of the manual.

    just got through to the service dept and put my name down for a swap out when they come. he did say that he didnt think the s/w update would fix the no signal problem but it was worth trying anyway

    This PVR doesn't work. I reccomend that you don't buy it as I have bought one and so has my friend and they were both faulty!

  • Another fault? got home today and the clock was 1 hr slow, corrected when tuned to bbc 1 anyone else had this? ps whats the best time to get through to the helpline have tried for 3 days and can only get an engaged tone!

    Yes! It happened to me. Took it back yesterday and got a full refund without question.
