I left it in standby overnight and it didn't hang. I need to do that check for a week before I'm sure that ones fixed.

I had severe picture and sound breakup whilst attempting to watch the final of Masterchef this evening with the signal being alternatively on and off for two seconds each. Had to abandon it and watch the programme on Sky so I don't know how long it lasted or what stopped it.

I'm getting picture breakup too on channels which I've not had that problem with before, ie strong signal channels - eg bbc1.
It could be the weather around here, as my signal isn't always good.
    Wait and see.
Would be interested in other reports re signal breakup

Have u tried switching channels and back for the lip sync problem?
My wife insisted on immediately switching to Sky so I did not have chance to investigate. She is very "anti" the PVR so I have to tread carefully ;). I have not yet had a recurrence of the problem. That is, a recurrence of the lip sync problemn not a recurrence of a problem with my wife. I get the latter more often than I got the No Signal problem.
Also, have you tried a reboot since the upgrade? its worth doing one just to reset everything.

No, not tried that yet, but will do so.

  • Favourites now works when setting recordings. The upgrade was worth it for that alone

Also, doing an initial installation may be worth doing if you are still having problems. You could also skip the auto channel search and search manually, which i believe can help with certain problems (sorry, cant be more specific but im sure u could find the details).

Me too. Haven't had the dreaded No Signal since update, but have had blocky signal breakup which I've never had before. Otherwise the update seems to have been a big improvement, but I'll monitor the breakup situation over the next few days.

    what does this do?

Personally I was hoping that the low sound volume might have ben sorted. Realisticaly that is probably a hardware issue rather than a software one though. So far for me the update has been good. I have been having pixellated picture moments for a week or two now and had assumed it was a weak signal or maybe that my hard drive is getting quite full.
To the people who are still getting the occasional moment of no signal, is it possible that maybe there really is no signal? We have all had the no signal message so many times that it probably now wouldn't occur to us that maybe there actually isn't a signal or at least are only getting a low signal. I myself am going to upgrade my aerial in summer as it has probably been up for at least 20 to 25 years and possibly longer than that according to my neighbour. My old Panasonic digibox is now in our dining room which uses a loft mounted aerial. It gives a good terrestrial picture but really struggles with digi and a booster makes no difference. So a new aerial for that too.

Before it would record from wrong channels if you used favourties to omit channels from your EPG.
