No probs with you its just some people keep droning on about taking it back. zzzzzzzzzz ;)
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

  • Well I've stuck with it and hope that this download will go through ok and solve the problems - it remains a brilliant price and a great piece of kit when it's doing what it should, and having checked the update schedule I have seen that it is far from alone in the teething problems with PVRs!
At the end of the day, Aldi are brilliant at taking things back anyway, so we lose nothing, but save a whole lot iof money if it all comes good! :j

    Hi folks,
    Good News :j

Looks like the weekend ( 17th - 20th) V 1.5 upgrade is finally confirmed and " fixes ALL issues ", according to Key.

    Everything crossed.

    Oh I really hope so.

Have been monitoring this thread for ages (I was one of the lucky(/unlucky??) ones who had a fully working PVR until the update came and I started getting those darn "no signal" errors)

Thanks for everyones hard work keeping this thread upto date

Lets keep our fingers crossed that this will be the end of it and we all get the bargain PVR we were hoping for.

I'm sure they'll understand (waves at key  ) that it's not that I don't want to believe...

....but I have nice empty 1.5 buglist lined up and ready to go over at http://pvr101.blogspot.com

Anyway I've been to Aldi. I saw the PCI DVB card. I'm cured I didn't buy it.

Then again I might go back tomorrow :naughty:

Hi Lorian have you seen this as an alternative to the Aldi TV card, no remote tho some say it works with MS Media centre edition so that remote may work.
Has dvb and analogue tuners too. Not available for immediate dispatch either

Aldi tv cards are usually ok.

Thanks for that. It seems to get mixed reviews. I'll probably buy the Aldi one. I know I'll regret it.

Anyhow, as it's nearly PVR101 D DAY. I'm working 'till the afternoon so I won't be able to upgrade my PVR untill then, so I'm looking forward to some early reports of downloads and fixes.

Brave guy Brian. Looking forward to hearing how you get on. I'm being chicken and waiting for some one else to be the guinea pig. ;)

  • Upgrade took 40 minutes to download. EPG now has full 8 day programme details. The picture still freezes in timeslip when a timer recording starts so you still have to FFWD or skip to realtime and then go back to where you were.
