Seems to have fixed the `no sound` issue on ITV from winter hill transmitter. That was a headache.
    It`s getting to the point

Timeshift can still be cancelled accidentally without confirmation if EPG or channel change buttons are pressed. Menu button is not so bad, you end up at realtime but the buffer is not lost.
  • Took about 50 mins to download then rebooted.
    Appears to have improved EPG.
    Channel 3 sound problem gone.
Haven't had a no signal yet (but it's only been 2 hrs).

    Looking good so far....................................

Not wishing to tempt fate - but - I wish I'd bought two now!

For info. I kept trying to upgrade from midnight and my PVR seemed to take about 1 min to scan to not find the upgrade.
It wasn't until this morning that I got 'NO SIGNAL' and re-booted the PVR,
tuned to BBC1 and it found the upgrade - and took about 45 mins.

In other words you may need to re-boot it if you can't find the upgrade.

The download did not start until 10 am.

I downloaded the upgrade as soon as it started this morning (and yes Brian...it IS long!!!)....and so far all is working absolutely fine...no lost signal when changing channels (and I've done it far more times than necessary, just to check!), I have switched on and off a fair few times too, and it has not locked...so I'm hopeful!
To be fair to Technosonic, if this upgrade does work , I'll be glad that 1.2/1.3/1.4 never went ahead as planned and that they've made sure they've caught everything this time. According to the download site, they are repeating the upgrade immediately after the first three days, so hopefully everyone will get it, and don't forget it should happen automatically at 3am if you leave your machine in standby.
All being well it's all sorted and those of us patient enough to wait it out have got ourselves a really good bargain - and a very easy to use piece of kit!
    Good luck everyone!!!
  • If it's cured the No Signal bug, which it seems to have done so far, I'll be more than happy to keep it now. Mine hasn't locked up in standby for a couple of weeks now. The full disk problems never bothered me as I have always deleted stuff when I've watched it. If I didn't watch it after 3 days I didn't want it anyway. 6 gig is the most I've had on there but the convenience is unbelievable compared to finding a blank tape and videoplus cocking up because the football has run over or something.

It's early days yet. There has already been the first report of a post-update No Signal condition on Digital Spy here , Posts #39 upwards.
