You aren't going to get the full "1080p experience" with a poor quality 1080p set either0

yeah but a 1080 sony should be better than a 720 sony in the same series. if so many 720 tvs were better because they had only 720 then why would anyone bother making 1080? 1080 wouldnt even exist if it was worse. a tv would have to be pretty bad if the picture was worse when it has more lines on screen. surely in general 1080 is the next step up. i wouldnt be surprised if in a few years they come up with a tv with an even higher number. no doubt just as everyone has got sky hd they will come up with super hd.0

Just last year a manufacturer made a screen with 5500 pixels (ish)
Within the next 10 to 15 years, screens will be that sharp that pixel definition wont matter anymore as no one would be able to tell a difference
3-D tvs next

Indeed, you go for a quality brand then it is logic to expect that a 1080p set will have a better picture quality than a 720p set it fed with an appropriate 1080p signal.
There's more to a tv than just how many pixels it can display, which is why I made the comment that if you took for instance a Sony 720p set and compared it to a Tesco 1080p set then the image processors, electrical components and quality of the screen itself will more than likely mean the quality brand has a better picture than the cheaper one. It's not all about numbers, not to mention viewing distances..0 -

Apparantly, they plan on having some in the states in shopping malls and the like soon (perhaps they already have). And when people see them then they KNOW the public will want them in their living rooms. Expect to see some sort of 3-D tv in the next 5 years or so (Probably be quite poor to begin with mind)
As for the adult nature? I cant see the adult industry missing out on THAT feature somehow

Im waiting for the next generation holographic tv, and its eventual climb through 4d picture clarity

You'd probably get a kick out of this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7593444.stm.
At least I did when I read it and "holodeck" was my first thought when I saw the article.
