Well, I rinsed it in cold water immediately after draining it and then after dinner I drained it and it is now in a container in the fridge awaiting stir frying tomorrow.

    Thanks for all your advice

I've only tried once to refrigerate rice and then reheat and it was like bullets - what's the secret?

Pop a pan of water on, and get it boiling. Throw the rice in for a minute or two and drain.
  • Totally fine - the chinese have been doing it for hundreds of years.

I think the danger is with rice that is kept warm for prolonged periods.

I reheat it all the time and nobody's been any the worse for it.

I love your idea of making it into a rice pud Kiwifruit:T

Thriftlady - i make it like that whether its long grain or short grain and both are yummy.......nice stodgy winter pud lol :D
    'Normal' is a dryer setting.
  • Yea, I've never had a problem re-heating rice a day old. Usually stored it in the fridge overnight and it's been grand.

I've re-microwaved rice before... just ad a couple of teaspoons of water, cover and then don't use the highest setting. Comes out fine for me, just don't have it going too long! Best of luck!
