can anyone offer any advise please. my stepdaughter has a dell latitude d600 laptop. i havnt got a clue what she has done but it wont load at all. it either sticks on windows xp logo page or blue screen comes up saying C0000221 imagekernel32.dll is corrupt. the headerchecksum does not match the computed checksum.
we do not have recovery disc but have a windows xp disc ( not the one from when we bought it because it was 2nd hand and came with nothing. ) but it wont run the cd even when i try to set it to boot from cd.
is there any way to sort this or has she totally ruined it
thanks gill

My dell inspiron 1525 is having issues at the moment - to save you the hassle of being on hold for 45 minutes you can do exactly what I was told to do. It was completely useless for me because I know my problem is with the software, but yours might be a hardware issue: hold down the fn button (bottom left on keyboard) while you turn it on, you can let go of it whehn computer is on, it will run some diagnostic thing to tell you if your problem is with the hardware of software...
That's if you have the same buttons as me!:heart2: Give blood. :female: Use a mooncup.
But ensure the two are not connected!0 -
Try this - http://www.fullandfree.info/software/erd-commander-2005/
Download n burn ERD commander. It is a great (and easy) little program that boots dead systems in the style of windows. It allows remote recovery and talks u through either reparing or cleaning ur system.Greyer by the minute - Older by the hour - Wiser by the day0 -
