Just email your area manager and explain the situation; they don't bite :)

Have already done that - thanks. Just thought there might be a way I could do it myself.

Just done a pub job for RE. The character limit is so high on some of the comments, I'm sure I sounded inane by the end of it. And describing the smell of somewhere (when it had no particular smell) in lots of words is very aggravating...
  • I am just starting out with mystery shopping. I have done a few for gapbuster, but as you have mentioned the petrol prices make it difficult to make a profit. I was wondering whether any of the other agencies pay your expenses? Thank you!

I used (and still use) just 5 companies all of which are discussed on this thread so not major secret trick to it all - Over the 4 years I have done in excess of 3000 Mystery Shops in total!

Crikey Mike you could write a book now and up your income even more. Do you include video MS'ing. I take it then you do MS'ing full time.

I am in Glasgow and got an email today looking for someone to do a job in Fort William and 1 in Dunoon. But there was no mention of extra to cover mileage.

Has anyone done any of the DIY place on TNS? The one thats named after several middles of a candle? Begins with a w

If so can you pm about the fees? Not sure if the ones given are for the full thing or for each visit they expect you to make.

    Thanks

Oh and the pub jobs for RE? can you only claim the cost of the food + drink, up to the allowed rate or can you include any petrol etc... or is the fee supposed to cover the cost of petrol etc...

mtem74 the DIY place fee appears to cover the 2 phone calls and the one visit they ask you to do.

RE - you can claim the cost of the food/drink up to the allowed limit from RE, but set the petrol etc against tax. You pay for petrol, printing etc out of the fee.

I'm so so cross with Gyp (and myself for giving into them )

Did a burger shop the other week, on my way to work at another site and I would have gone there anyway for a drink en route so I was happy to do it. Submitted it fine and a couple of days later got 2 emails which both said I hadn't spent enough time in there so it was rejected - I had spent enough time in there so I sent an enquiry and didn't get a reply.

Then yesterday they phone up asking me to do a computer job - I asked about the burger one - the guy said he'd talk to his manager and asked me to send the message again to a different option on the enquiry thing - unfortunately I wasn't near a computer at the time so couldn't check but when I did get to one it wasn't there so sent an enquiry to the other bit and no reply.

I agreed to do the computer one as it's very close to where I work and there was an extra fee. Did it no problem tonight - went to web express it and it said this assignment number has already been web expressed

I've sent them another enquiry saying I can't webexpress but as I've never had a reply to an enquiry I don't hold out much hope this time - do they every reply to enquiries?

It is sooo annoying when it's like that. I write rubbish sentances like "The member of staff who dealt with me throughout the visit was wearing the appropriate uniform which conformed to store policy".

Some do and some don't.....Gap fees are low so I tend to use them as "filler" jobs.

    Hi
These are such long winded visits! 2 phone calls and a heap of things to do in store.I personally think the fee is toooooo low for the job and I won`t do them any more.
