    Hello

Re the petrol jobs on GAP, does anybody know if the minimum purchase is £10 petrol, or is it £10 petrol AND £10 in the shop? Notes aren't clear, have sent a message but obviously it might take them a while to get back to me....

    Thanks very much

Does anyone know how to look at page 2 (etc) on Abai jobs? I've got petrol stations up, and it says 2 pages, but I can't click on the second page :(

I have exactly the same problem. I know there are problems using their site on a Mac, so I have to go and log in on my son's PC, but even using that I can't get onto the second page. Would love to know what I'm doing wrong!

It always takes ages to load up the pages on ABA, but you can search on parts of postcodes/place names to make it quicker.

Once you have ticked all the boxes and the search results show press (save search) it is in a yellow button the the right hand side (you can only do this when the results are showing. Then you give your search a name. Next time you want to have a quick look just go to the yellow button click on the down arrow and all your searches will show up. You can save up to 10 searches with 10 towns wach.
The only reason why you might want to save 10 searches is that there are up to 10 ways to spell a town the Gap way.

Just out of interest, whats the maximum distance most of you will travel to a job? The furthest I have gone is 20 miles, anything over that would appear to be unprofitable these days. I wouldn't mind going further for a nice stay in a Hotel though:D

As a Shopper of many many years, and due to my location, I am regulalry doing individual round trips of up to 300 miles every week to carry out work across the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Although I dont do anywhere near as much as I used to, in the first 3 years I travelled in excess of 110,000 miles due to Mystery Shopping across the whole of Scotland (and it also paid off my Mortgage but also had to buy a new car at the end of it)

My advise is to find a niche geogrpahical area and bulk up jobs in that area to justify the trips. So for example, I live in Inverness but to be honest, that work gets snapped quickly by those who wont travel. So instead, I focus or areas like Elgin, Aviemore, Wick, Stornoway, Fort William etc. Pick a few jobs in one town, which just covers the fuel, then start phoning and emailing the other companies to say 'I will be in that area in xxx days, do you have any work needing done?' - 9 times out of 10 I get more jobs and suddenly, the trip becomes profitable.

Also, if you bulk up for a round trip it makes sense. So I will pick jobs in Forres, Elgin, Keith, Huntly, Banff and do one 150 mile trip in a circle. The dates of the jobs dont always tally but I have been with some companies so long now, getting dates changes is never a huge issue and works in my favour.

Also, once you get to that stage with a company, I get offered a lot of work before it goes live onto the systems - The companies do this regulalry with prefferred shoppers by sending the pre-release job lists a week before they go live - so thats why you might find certain areas difficult to get work in - they company have a preffered shopper snapping them up.

Some areas do stick in my mind as always being problematic for getting Mystery Shoppers as I used to do a lot of work in those areas when I lived in Glasgow - Argyll and Bute, Barrow in Furness, Carlisle, Shetland, Fife, Wigtownshre. When I moved back to Inverness, I drew the line at keeping going with the south of Scotland work!

I think the reason these ones are hanging around is because of that programme "Britain's worst restaurants" or whatever it was called and that chain got a slating for not storing food hygenically, putting new food on top of old food etc - made me feel quite ill just watching it. I nearly took one of these jobs as the pay isn't too bad for RE, but then DH reminded me - phew!

Gross. Mind you, I've done a few of these and have never yet been poisoned!! And I'm really skint and wouldn't dream of normally spending that sort of money on a pub meal for myself...I've got 2 lined up this month and 2 drinks only jobs as well as a sandwich shop. :D
