  • Gfk have always been good with me, I have had some enquiries about a report after I had been paid for it.

Now for a rant at Gap. The phone shops, I did one last week, sales person did not have name badge, did not fill in recommendations form, asked for card, no name on it. Asked for his name, said I could speak with anyone when I called.

I received the inevitable follow up from Gap, I had already uploaded the business card, and gave them the above.

They have come back and said I will not be getting paid as I should have asked for his name, which I had. I have replied but will probably not get a reply.

Once more Gap have left me fuming. Anyone know an e-mail for someone senior in this appalling company.

    Cheers Paul

Just out of interest, whats the maximum distance most of you will travel to a job? The furthest I have gone is 20 miles, anything over that would appear to be unprofitable these days. I wouldn't mind going further for a nice stay in a Hotel though:D

It varies depending on if they pay mileage and my past experiences with them.

I've got a couple of companies that I will do lengthy journeys for because they have been so good to me in the past and I know going out of my way to help will be rewarded. I'm not as helpful since the petrol prices went up though :o
Here I go again on my own....
  • There are pub meals on RE for this week; today through to Friday if anyone is interested; not many to choose from but they are nationwide; you can only pick 1 and then the rest of the list vanishes. HTH
  • Isn't it about time Gap put up some new jobs? Or are they blocking me from seeing them?

I remember at the end of August we were all anxiously waiting for the September jobs to be added, and I assumed there would be a fresh batch added at the end of September for completion in October - but I've not seen any.
  • Gyp just phoned me, offered me a computer shop job with a much improved fee and also gave me a petrol job as a thankyou for helping out with this one.

    They must be desperate!!
  • Hi, I have my first job coming up with RE, an energy one and wondered if I have to be on my own when I go or can someone be with me but stand quietly!!

    Thanks.

You should try one of those phone shops where you are supposed to get the staff's full name. You get some very weird looks!
I never had any problem with them until recently. I did a stamp shop and got an email saying that the receipt was blury so I emailed it again then I got a reply that I didn't spend £5 and so would not get paid. I replied saying that for this particular scenario (POP) I am not required to spend the 5! I got a reply please send me a copy of the POP instead of the receipt. Now the POP on this occasion was written on the receipt. I explained this and got no reply, and then I see the same job in the available section. Can't wait to check my pay!!
The other thing I had just done a job and when I came home to enter the results I found it was rescheduled!!!!!
I sent numerous emails and not got any reply. I have to admit I always had instant replies but not this time!
Since they are based in Australia I am unable to strangle someone for this so fuming is the only open alternatif.
You can email Suzan @Gap but I can assure you that she is fuming 2.

They used to go on regular as clockwork around the 15th of the month, but in the last few months the majority have been a few days later and then some at completely different times. There should be some more on later this week, I'd say, but then as they have been getting later, it could be into next week!

I'm doing Gap October jobs now, so guess you missed those - the ones that will go on soon, will be for November.

The phone jobs went on yesterday, but again these are for November.

Keep an eye on this thread for updates and pls post here if you see any go on too:

I think the reason these ones are hanging around is because of that programme "Britain's worst restaurants" or whatever it was called and that chain got a slating for not storing food hygenically, putting new food on top of old food etc - made me feel quite ill just watching it. I nearly took one of these jobs as the pay isn't too bad for RE, but then DH reminded me - phew!

I suppose it depends on what the fee/incentive is, but for me 20 miles would prob be too far. But like you, I would make more of an effort for a hotel LOL :)

I agree, unless it's a well-paid petrol job then don't think I would travel that far - it's going to cost you about £4 petrol anyway - so you'd be working for less than the minimum wage probably on most jobs! No change there, then, eh?
