You only legally require consent to record information (either from an audio source eg microphone or telephone or a video source) if you intend to disclose it to anyone. Possession of it then become subject also to the Data protection act so you must ensure that it is kept secured and used only for the purpose intended and kept for only as long is necessary.
Ie it would be illegal to then post it on youtube for example but not so for the purpose of this. If you are asked to record and pass it on to a MS company - then it falls within the description above where consent must be given by the person.
However, most companies have in employment contracts as standard that they may be subject to CCTV (as in covert as well as overt) and that this may involve interactions with mystery shoppers. Telephone calls may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
How many people have signed a form to say that you agree for golden arches to record you in the shop and argue about the actual amount of time you were in a queue.... you haven't - they simply put a sign up saying CCTV is in use. Every shop records you all the time and do not need to obtain your consent.
The notification requirement of recording of footage and audio as I have said just depends on the intended use.
Hope that helps clarify
I had a feeling it wasn't quite as straightforward as the OP said it was - I did try to look it up but had no luck. I was thinking, since you can take photos of anyone so long as they are only for personal use and not to be passed on or used commercially, surely it would be illogical for you not to also be able to make recordings. Thanks for clearing that up!Deanomc123 wrote: »Hi Guys,
I'm new to this whole thing, had my first two assignments on Friday, all going well so far. Anyway i signed up with TNS and they sent me a form to fill out in the post. However they ask for my bank details. I just wanted to confirm whether it was O.K to send these details through the post to them. I know it's a bit suspicious but you cant be too careful these days.
Unfortunately they aren't psychic and if you want them to pay you, you have to give them your bank details!Dan

no - although we are not meant to mention client names !
they also do a depertment store, a catalogue company with retail outlets and a petrol station chain
you have to contact them to get these added to your account
they dont pay fees though,. they want people who use the shops as part of their normal routine so just reimburse an amount - some times this no where near covers the cost of the item0 -

They do pay fees for most of their jobs! You get the money in cash through the post! I think some people have been paid by cheque, though I never have.
For these jobs, if you have to make a purchase the fee is higher as you have to return the item on the same day leaving at least twenty minutes in between.0 -
