It's with RE, but you need a business email address, but maybe your uni / college one would be ok, like xxx@xxx.leeds.ac.uk, because even if you worked there the end bit would be the same anyway.

Bryssn - did you go to uni? You can apply for a uni email at most unis FOC - I know you were looking for a business email?

Awww I thought I had cracked it there. I have an open university email addy but it is xxxx@student.open.ac.uk I presume the 'student' part would rule that out. Does anyone know?

Colchester also my home town, didn't realise everybody on here lived in ivory towers. (or glass houses) :p

For what it's worth, I love the place. (well most of it anyway).

    Thanks for the welcome Kman.

I just have one thing to ask at the moment (I'm sure I'll have more later :o ). My phone has a voice recorder on it, and i wondered if it was acceptable to use this discretely, just to use as a reminder of how the conversation went, and then to delete it afterwards. Or is it not the done thing??

No, that's illegal. You have to let the person know they're being audio recorded and seek their consent before continuing. IF you're ever asked to do an audio/video recording MSing job, the employees at that shop/place will have been made aware that this is how MSing jobs are carried out and will have signed a form saying theyre ok with it; I know because I was a retail worker and had to do this myself once.

question for golden arches shoppers - my morning drive through order has "1 gapbuster order 0.00" on the receipt. Have I been rumbled?

TBH they;re gonna get in !!!!!! for it, not you. While Gap may say you should have been more discreet and not get rumbled, when I have been rumbled, they just kiss my !!!! and clean imaginary dirt stains around me, not get all nasty and petty like that.

Still only one job showing on RE same job that has been showing for ages date ran out yesterday so I was hoping it would disappear but they have extended the date by 4 days. I have checked my rating perfect 12s except the last job which I had to release because I was sure I saw the cashier put the receipt in the bag but when I got home it wasn't there so 0 for that job but no penalties does that job count so that it reduces my average or not? I have 2 extra points for surveys but if that job does count I will need 10 surveys to make up lost points!

I'm going to ring them tomorrow. I used a very legitimate work email address but it made no difference. I'll let you know outcome!

i have joinned up with a , b and re and note that a is the only one where you do not appear to have to outlay any money - the assignements that i have seen and done are for banks, phone stores, betting stores

having noticed the other day that for fastfood after you have dedcuted the money that you have spent you only get £4 to cover your time going to the premises in question and then typing up your report.

It depends on the sort of job you're doing. What could they ask you to buy at a bank? The main business of a bank is not selling things (unless a MS agency are going to pay for you to have a mortgage from them or something!). On other other hand, the main business of the food places you mentioned is selling food, so of course they'd want a MS to try the food.

It's not a company thing as to whether you spend in the shop or not, it's just the type of jobs they currently have on offer. I've been doing several phone shop jobs for GAP recently that don't require you to buy anything, presumably because everything in a phone shop is too expensive for them to reimburse you.

And as posted above, please don't put client names in your posts. It is a breach of the terms and conditions you signed up to when joining the mystery shopping companies - they require you to not discuss details of clients with anybody.

Doesn't stop people on You Tube, tho does it and they're even publishing it on the internet for everyone to see! Can't honestly think you'd get prosecuted if you'd accidently pressed the record button on your phone, without realising, can you? :rotfl:

Sorry, FE - not disputing it's illegal, just looking at practicalities and likelihood of you being arrested for it must be minimal.
