I got the email this morning, and it looks identical to ones I've had from them in the past - they sent a similar one last year, so maybe someone who did do it can let us know........................?! It looks like a legit Gfk email!

Don't know if I'd want to do it though - I may get my husband to look at it!

You shouldn't really publish private emails in a public forum. MS companies don't like their fees and job specifics being talked about.

The company concerned is a reputable company, so I would do this work.
Here I go again on my own....

I wish I had an annual income of £50,000 then I would do this. (In connection with matched betting of course )

    Hi

Has anyone had this e-mail? As well as looking a bit dodgy are there many MS'rs that have an annual household income of min £50,000. I wouldn't be doing this if I did...... If its any use to anyone else out there pm me and I will forward original e-mail coz its no use to me!

We have been asked to run a mystery shopping programme for a spread betting company and I am writing to find out levels of interest with our panel.
The assessment will involve registering and opening an account with a spread betting company, depositing a min of £500 of your own money into the account, completing a number of trades on your account and then withdrawing whatever funds are remaining in the account after these trades have completed. You will not need to close the account. Please note a credit check will be run on your details during the account opening stage. The project would start towards the end of April/beginning of May and run for up to 6 weeks. You would be asked to complete a questionnaire after each stage of completion and we would pay you a fee of £50 plus any reimbursement of trading funds UP TO the value of £500.
If you are interested in the above assessment and fulfil the following please reply to [EMAIL="spreadbet@gfk.com"]spreadbet@gfk.com[/EMAIL] to confirm your interest and we will be in touch in due course should the project go ahead. Please note this is a register of interest and does not commit you to completing the assessment or [strike]GfK [/strike]offering it to you.
    • Own your own property (mortgaged or outright)
    • Min household income of £50,000
    • Are able to provide a minimum of £500 of your own money to open the account (any funds lost will be made up by [strike]GfK[/strike] – UP TO the value of £500)
We will be in touch with further details should the project go ahead. Please note if you have completed a spread bet assessment for [strike]GfK[/strike] in the past you are unable to participate on this occasion.

Thanks for the advice, I should have been more discreet in the original post. I was just a bit worried because it came into my junk e-mail and was not from anyone I recognised. I've been reading through some of the old posts and was a bit freaked out by one posting about transferring money through the post office which turned out to be a scam.

I'll be more careful in future with my posts....... still learning!

I've noticed that for GAP the dreadful burger shops charge you a different amount in every shop, there is no consistency. The expensis fee doesn't cover the purchase regardless of what shop you do!
It does for me up north.

If the email address to reply to is a link, check it links to the actual @gfk.com address. If it doesn't, it could be a scam. The safest thing to do would be to not reply to this email, or click on the email address in the email, but to start a fresh email and manually type in the email address given. Since you know you are emailing to @gfk.com, the email MUST be going to somebody within GfK, and if it is fraudulent they won't be expecting your email and will reply appropriately.
