That's great - thanks! Bit scared - I've always fancied a bit of gambling (not been able to pick up any bookies jobs on Gap unfortunately), but I'm a bit worried I'll get carried away with it!
i just take the amount in cash which i will be reimbursed. i can't get carried away then! you will probably win a few times which will build your chips up but cashing them back in takes some willpower!

you may get a free £10 bet on roulette as a new member. i put my bet on black and hubby put his on red. unless 0 comes out you will win, so that gives you an extra £10 before you get started!

how do you get the audits on tns? i have done a few MS jobs for them but would like to try the audits.
  • I'm not too sure about that! I am only doing this because I can't get a proper job! I've tried, and just keep getting knocked back, which is quite demoralising. I think I've been out of the workplace for too long and there are so many people out there looking for work at the moment that employers would rather choose someone who is bang up to speed with current work practices and computer systems. That's my theory anyway.

I do like the (supposed) freedom of this type of work, but there are times (like this week) when I would really love to reschedule but some companies don't really make it easy. I've had a really hectic week so far, and have been up til 11pm doing reports - partly because my computer has been on a major go slow so 2 mins to update after each question, and partly because there are other things in the house that need doing. It's been really hard to fit it all in this week, even though, on the face of it, I've not had many jobs, only 2 or 3 per day.

For the amount of time mystery shopping takes, the pay is well below minimum wage, but since I can't get a proper job this is the only way I can find to get a few quid in to contribute to the bills.

I'm glad I didn't take that Gap travel agent job earlier this week - the fee was rubbish but I was tempted as I had another job just a few doors away. Well, I did a travel agent for GR yesterday. Fee was ok, or so I thought, but I was an hour in the place!!! And then there's the travel time, petrol, parking charge etc. I won't be doing one of those again in a hurry!

    Hey Scaredy Cat

I know what you mean. I've been made redundant - no not true my job has been made redundant - thats what they tell me - but it all FEELS the same to me!

So to cheer myself up I'm off to MS a bank...... think I might try robbing it instead!!

    Chin up!
  • You sure about that? My screen shows a higher fee.

Oh, just looked at a couple and they all have different fees. How odd.

Yeah, it seems the Edinburgh ones in the city centre have higher fees than those a bit further out. But it looks as though the higher the fee, the more places you have to visit.

  • SC - As a new member you may also get a free £10 to play the slot machines if you put £10 in as well.
When I went, the MOS put the money in for me and was showing me how to play. I thought I'd hit the jackpot when a load of money kept dropping out and I was jumping up and down with excitement. :j

He then pointed out that I'd actually hit a button to return my stake money!:rotfl:

Aawwww thanks - that made me laugh! Just the sort of thing I'd do!

Just thought - according to the brief I'm supposed to ring up AFTER the visit to enquire about becoming a member, so how will anyone there know that I'm new???

Duh!!! Sounds so obvious now that you mention it!!! :rotfl:

I have a feeling I'm going to stand out like a sore thumb! I can't even figure out how to play the arcade games in our local bowling alley!

    I even lose at Snap!
  • I took my friend and it was Friday night but there was hardly anyone in so I'm sure everyone knew we hadn't been before (I think the squeals may have given it away as well). It doesn't really matter though and it's not like you're playing with your own money so you've nothing to loose (like pebblespop said don't take any more than your reimbursement with you). I was lucky that the one I went to didn't have a restaurant so I got to gamble the whole lot.

Ha Ha! Can just see the report now:

"What went well in the branch today?" I managed to fill my bags with loads of brand new £50 notes

What didn't go well in the branch today?" I got arrested, charged and sentenced to 20 years

    :D
