My point is that for the abysmal fee they ask a lot of stupid questions, that even when cut and pasted still take time to answer.

For the Hotel jobs there are 140 Q's, no fee, no mileage, the expense is a "contribution" and now you cannot earn hotel points.
I won't be doing those again unless I really need to have hotel room.

The majority of jobs RE now have are really not good value at all when time taken to complete is compared with fee and any perk obtained.

I am with you blindman on this. I did a job tonight for JfK which had X 10 the fee RE pay. Yet I had to assess 4 different members of staff. It was just intuative questions though like "Did the staff member smale make eye contact and made you feel welcome." As soon as you click Yes that is it. It removes the comment box which only becomes relevant if you give a No answer.

The 40 questions took me about 10 minutes to do. Now that is obviously good enough for this client so why the big rigmarole for RE. The one I did the other night was bloody annoying as it asked a variation of the exact same question about 5 different times. Like how long did it take for your drink to arrive. I answered 9 minutes. Then a drop down box with the minutes. What part of 9 minutes do they not understand.

And these stupid pictures. I read on another MS forum ( the tea room one) someone had a problem sending their pic so RE said they would use their stock one. And the reason for the pic....so they can make up a file for the client with a pic of the shop on the front of the file.

Hi All, I've been AWOL for ages, so sorry, my son started school full time in September and everyone said I'd have so much time on my hands ... well I never seem to be at home and my use of online forums has gone downhill

But I am still an active MS-er, trying to increase my job load to get some extra pennies for Xmas.

    Take care all,
    TG xxx

Welcome back TG. You have been missed.

To all the Glasgow and neighbouring area MS peeps.

Is it me or is there very little jobs going? Also has anyone done any jobs for GR / JKS / MCE/ OC/ CRI

Thery are just a few of the companies I've signed up with and had nothing. Checked daily, emailed them etc.. Wondering if being a bloke with no kids doesn't help?

No Glasgow and area is quieter than I have ever known it at the moment. No idea why or if it is the credit crunch biting.

Although I don't know who CRI are??? There is a company based in Glasgow called Bluestar. I applied ages ago but heard nothing back but you could try them anyway.

I'm still waiting for jobs done in Aug to be paid by FF too. The contact from the website that says to use for pay queries hasn't answered any of my emails . Altho' bryssn as you say, S normally is pretty good about replying. They must be the slowest payers in the business!

FF owe me money from May!! So I have refused to do more work til I get that reimbursed.

I've accepted a job for ABA-i and just read the notes. It seems they are not paying in proper money, but are paying a gift voucher for use in the stores connected with the place I'm supposed to MS. Is this new? It seems a bit off to me.

Also, the assignment says I have to buy something for which I will not be reimbursed but I am free to return it later. I was pleased to have taken this job until I read all the notes, now I feel I'm being taken advantage of. What do you think?

I should probably add, I don't usually shop in these stores so have no use for a gift voucher - I'd rather have the cash to spend where I choose.

So it's two trips to town (one to do the assignment and one to return the item I had to purchase), and the only recompense is a voucher to spend in a store I never shop in. I think I'll have to cancel the job - but I would appreciate comments. What do the rest of you think?

This client usually pays you in the form of a gift voucher unless you do a party or a style advisor tip in which case they pay you cash. TBH if you dont usually shop there then you need to consider if it is worth your while. I usually try and do them if I am already doing jobs in the same town and either give the vouchers as bday presents or I buy myself something as I do usually shop in these stores.

You could always sell them on ebay

    Help

anyone done a golden arches drive through? looking at the timings and not sure how to do it. The one I'm doing doesn't usual have much of a que normally, so I could be zero for the timing points before being asked what I'd like.

Read you job notes - it does explain how to enter timings for this exact situation! What you will find it that it depends on how you do your timings - split or actual. But a 0 entry is possible for one of them. The part where you get asked about a greeting can not be 0 seconds though, but it can be 1 second!

Sorry, I should have made it clear that I agree with your first point. They DO ask a lot of stupid questions. My point is that I expect MSers to think carefully about whether jobs are worth accepting before they take them, and then use technology to make completion of the jobs as speedy for the MSer, and informative for the client, as possible! Yes, their jobs are stupid, but once you have saved the information once, you can do a good report at minimal effort.
