Of course it would not be too difficult for someone to sign up to some ms company, read the brief, and then go back into work and tell all your colleagues what to expect when the ms comes in. I'm sure this is why some companys only show a short brief with no specifics before you accept the job.

  • Hiya,

I'm doing my first job with TNS tonight (a meal). At the start of the briefing notes it says that you can take others with you but they will only reimburse £23 towards the meal.

At the bottom of the briefing notes it says that if you take others with you or spend over the limit, they won't reimburse for the other person/people.

I'm a little confused as when I accepted the job it said they would pay £23 towards the meal and didn't say anything about only paying for me.

Has anyone got any experience of this as I don't know what to claim for?

    Cheers!

THey definitely pay for 2 people but pay a max of £23. You can just about both eat for that, if you are careful (remember you have to buy 2 courses and a drink). I sometimes take a friend and sometimes just go alone and pig out!

Some from Gap like the Pizza you definitly can take kids with you. My way of thinking is if you can't then it will say so. I know Golden Arches is a big NO NO!

I think the giveaway is the question AND receipt especially if you are buying a larger meal in the evening - its not likely to be work related. The only thing I have a problem with is the question to ask ? What question did you ask Ellie or Mg - pm me please !

A few years ago several store managers in one group all got sacked as it was discovered that they were all getting family and friends to sign up as MS. They were all getting perfect scores and someone did some digging...

Thanks for the PM Vicki. I was going to say the same thing about having friends sign up and they can see the dates when the jobs are due.

When I used to work at a convenience store ... sounds like erm FAR, the manager would have an inckling as to when it would be or he would receive a phone call from another branch telling him a shopper is on the loose!

We used to get 9s out of 10 and that was because the question we had to ask at the till is "Would you like anything else" which is a bit silly because clearly they've browsed the store and picked up what they wanted and have now got to the till.

With regards to the Travel shops that were mentioned and which name to use etc, I work for that agency and we got shopped on Saturday, I thought I clocked her as she entered then I changed my mind but it turns it she was the MS as we had a call from the other shop in our town and if we had searched the network (which I think we are supposed to do now) it came up that she had done the same enquiry in 6 other shops locally!!! So I would use a different name if I were you ;) but if you leave your number be prepared to get calls as to why you didn't book etc

ETA: We have no idea when the shops will done - only that they happen once a month and we get the result a few days after the shop! We also never check our CCTV etc but we do try and work out who it was if we don't click at the time!

Eek! I used the same name and address at both places! :rotfl:
