Well I did my phone job with the black envelope today. And I ended up presenting the staff member with the envelope and she was quite a happy little bunny. She was very good though and if I hadn't have been msing I would actually have bought the phone she was awarded for recommending. Must admit my heart was thumping and I wasn't sure what would happen but when I presented it to her and gave her the speel she smiled and said "we were wondering when one of you would turn up?" So alls well that ends well.

My phone contract comes to an end at the end of March and I'm looking for a mobile that has good internet connectivity so I can check my e-mails when I go back to work in June. it needs to be quick as I'll likely be checking them in the loo!!! The phone that was recommended does look really good and it did connect to the internet quite quickly. Any recommendations as I was thinking of a Blackberry otherwisex

Agreed but not with such vigour :)

Thought that nokia e71 and nokia e500 (i think) look promising. Just dpends if the Nokia App store is going to be any good.

BTW don't expect to be able to accept jobs with a mobile it's not easy at all.

Yeah can be hit & miss - I know you can accept TNS jobs reasonably easy but that's the only company I've done it for up to now. My friend got one of the new vodafone blackberry things that has a full touch screen interface and he's really not liking it - he hasn't said it but I think he wishes he'd bought the iphone.

Saved my life (well, not really) last night as I needed to check on my brief (not my briefs, I hasten to add) - my iphone saved the day as something tricky had come up on the job.

    Timmne,

You missed a couple of key points. Ellie needs the phone to have "good internet connectivity" and will "need to be quick".

On those two requirements, I'd rule out the iPhone. The iPhone, by today's standards has poor and slow net connectivity. Even the iPhone 3G is, in my opinion, slow and out of date as HSDPA is widely available.

I'd advise the Nokia n96 or similar. I beg you not to buy an iPhone and become yet another victim of Apple's contemptuous (is that a word?!) treatment of customers.

I have 2 casino jobs this Fri and Sat. Someone ( not a MS'er) told me you get a free £15 to play with when you join. AND if you each stick money on roulette and 1 picks red and the other black you can't lose.

Is this correct as I know nothing about roulette or blackjack etc.

Hoping one of you lot from Gamblers Anonymous can advise here. ( Like Josie who seems quite expert to me).

Very common oversigt - what happens if the ball lands on a zero?! You lose.

creaker - not sure about your question, but even if you call from a home phone, you could with hold the number so can't see it making much different. Never done a phone job b4
Also regarding RE - anyone else notice how the reimbursement for the station ones have gone up, even though the hot drink purchase required (on most, there are a few pastrys one) is only half that, and it says you can buy other items but at your own cost......very sneaky. As someone said while back the reimbursement could be £100 but if they just want you to buy a cuppa.......pointless
i am glad the reimbursement has gone up as i did three last week and was out of pocket on two of them. i complained on the report and i think some others on here emailed them to complain as well.

if they only want you to buy a certain product at least the reimbursement will cover it now. remember mystery shopping is for the companies to get feedback on how their staff/services are doing, not primarily for us to get a load of free stuff (although that is a very nice perk!!)

me and my husband got £10 free when we did a casino job. you could only use it on roulette so we did black and red. one won one lost and we walked away from the table with £10 cash! if green comes up you lose but it's free money anyway!

I guess you've not had the joy of owning an iphone then? ;)

I won't discuss it as I know I haven't tried anything else and am a little biased probably (I'm not generally an Apple fan btw) but I would urge anyone to consider going into an O2 shop to try a working display iphone before they make up their mind.

We have an iphone and it's good but there are some naff points. For starters, Apple have done it so Bluetooth does not work - don't expect to be able to bluetooth from another phone etc. It is a bit slow but OK.
