Sorry you've had a bad experience with them CZ, I've always found them to be really good. Hopefully you'll be able to pick up a job with them soon and they'll be back on form.0

Riskiest mystery shop I have seen in a long time... sad truth is I think it's genuine....
Mystery Shop | Phone Retailer
For this mystery shopping program, you will be required to visit a Phone Retailer (we will provide the exact address details to purchase a phone and insurance prepaid for one year. We therefore want you to test the compliance of staff and the level of service and knowledge that you receive from them.
Mystery Shopper Tasks
It is very important to write down as much information as possible about your visit, the process you went through, how the staff dealt with your inquiry and the information you were given. You will be required to fill out an online questionnaire after your visit. During the visit to your allocated store (which will last approx 30 minutes) you will be required to purchase a mobile phone (without a SIM card) and insurance for one year. The insurance MUST be paid in one go and not by monthly payments. The price of the telephone must be approx £200. Plus the insurance price approx. £100.
Please DO NOT open the seal on the mobile telephone box. The box is to be returned in the condition it was bought. Please take a photo of the box and make copies of the receipts as proof before you return it and send these documents to me.
After your visit you must return all the materials within 48 hours to our office via registered mail:
§ Telephone (in box & unopened)
§ Original receipt with specification which mobile telephone and which insurance was bought
§ Proposal form of insurance
Please make a copy of the original receipt and of the proposal form and take a photo of the boxed up phone, and keep it as a proof of the visit! Please send these copies via email to me ASAP and I will have a cheque sent out that day via Special Delivery for the exact amount spent in store.
Please let me know if you are interested in the participating in above project. If so please email me back with your best contact number and we can move things forward from there.
I've seen a similar one. Difference is, this one puts the cost of the phone and insurance in your account prior to the shop. Half decent fee too. Shame there are none near me!Recent wins: iPhone 5s, iPad mini, Micro scooter, Commonwealth Games tickets, Magnum of Champagne, Skincare Set, Make up, £250 voucher0 -
Can anyone tell me if TNS is worth trying to sign up to again?
I filled out their depressingly naff "test" form awhile ago, repeating the same 3 answers over and over again as to why "mystery shopping is so very very important to the company as it helps them to excel in customer service" etc etc ad nauseum. And then they rejected me!
I was very angry as the test was the most boring thing i've ever been asked to do online - half an hour to basically answer the same question in as many different ways as they ask it. I read the literature thoroughly and was articulate and intelligent in my answers, but was then told i was unsuccessful.
Now, I really enjoy mystery shopping with RE, GB, and GfK, and am wondering if the TNS job quality : questionnaire dullness ratio is worth me trying to go through that stupid application form again, only this time instead of answering in my own words i'll just cut and paste from "How To Be A Mystery Shopper"!
Any ideas fellow spies?!
thanks in advance - horton0 -
I applied to TNS last week and have heard nothing since. I agree that test was awful, the worst I've ever had to do.
I'd also be interested to know if theyre any good.0 -
TNs are one of the worlds biggest market research companies so it's funny see them balls up their own questionnaire. I joined and it's not to bad.
Fees aren't great but are better than Gap and RE and they do include a mileage allowance. They have the UKs biggest supermarket chain so there's a good chance you'll get a job (fastest finger first).
Give it another go!0 -
ok, maybe i'll give it another go. can i ask if the job questionnaires are in the same format as that one or are they multiple choice in a similar format to GAP / RE ?
horton ;o)0 -
No probs
Can't recall waht the TNs application form looks like but the survey ones are similar to Gap\Re - no where near as a**l as Gap though.

I was going to suggest it might have been a grammatical error, or some such, but you seem to have been spot on, with the above, so it seems unlikely. I'm happy to proof read if you like, if you PM me. I know of someone else who was rejected a couple of times by them and they don't give any reason, so, sorry, I can't be more helpful.0 -
Blimey am just getting my stuff together for this stamp shop job with the DVLA form and basically you have to ask them to check the form and send off for you with your passport. They shouldn't accept it, as you're doing it on behalf of someone else, but in case they do, there's a tel. no. at Gap to ring to retrieve it ( a novelty in itself).
I'm just a bit worried as we go on hols in 3 weeks and am using my hubby's passport for this. If they do accept it, it does say you mustn't say anything there and then - just watch your form and passport disappear into the deep, blue yonder obviously....then ring Gap to get them to retrieve it
The other thing is that it's meant to be for a change of address and yet, on the sample form they've told you to copy, the box is ticked to say it isn't a change of address - oh well, hopefully that might be enough to stop it going through!!0
