I do loads of these for Gap, and as I was in Cambridge for a couple of days last week with my daughter decided to book three - at premium rates too - it took my mind off her University interviews!!

At Stansted Airport on the way home, my handbag was pulled to one side and searched by security. I suddenly realised what it would be - the thermometer you have to use to measure the temperature of the coffee is lethal once the outer sheath is removed for cleaning- its got a really sharp point to it!

The woman took everything out and went through things one by one and still hadn't come across the thermometer - it's a huge bag and it was right in the corner. Eventually I asked if it could be the equipment I needed for my Mystery Shopping - the look on her face when I said that - she was falling over herself to be nice, asking if I did flights and airports, and when I said yes, but this was just for coffee shops, she looked relieved!!
I wonder what she would have made of the scales & stopwatch if she'd come across those - they were in my daughter's bag!

Glasgow Airport didn't spot it on the way out which is worrying as their new security section has just opened!
In the past I've put them in the hold, but this time we just had hand luggage.

I'm glad they were doing their jobs properly at Stansted, but next time they go in the hold..................................!:D

You should have been provided with a login and password then do a job search and it will come up with whats available in the areas you searched, all quite straightforward as long as you have your login details really.

If you dont have your login details their password recovery is decent though so should get you onto the site pretty quickly.

aaargghhh made a stupid mistake now I'm stuck!!

I just carried out an assignment, done loads for the same shop so foolishly when I looked at the instructions and saw the 1130/1430 I thought it was the same and went ahead and carried out the job, however when I go to enter the results I was was meant to do it before 1130 or after 1430!! very silly error and have learnt a lesson about reading assignment instructions - I have been doing this a few months now I shouldn't be so careless! Anyway it was for Gap and now I'm trying to reschedule it and even though there are 4 dates to choose from it's not rescehduling. I can't go after work as I wont make it in time so I've emailed them saying, knowing my luck I won't get any joy and will have to cancel :mad: also its saying the date I initially requested the job was tomorrow :rolleyes: need to get that fixed on Gap!

Still anyway lesson learned!

Quick question folks... do any of the MS agencies call you from a withheld number?

I have been doing a number of jobs for the self assign/online based companies but am also signed to a few that will call you when they have work. I haven't heard from any of these ones yet, but keep missing calls from a withheld number which I obviously then can't call back. Sods law that they don't call when I have my phone with me all day, but they call the minute I am in a meeting! :mad:

These calls started shortly after I started MSing so I just wondered if there were any agencies that always called from a withheld number so I know who to call back without ringing every agency I am signed to! I am signed to pretty much all, if not all of the MS companies in the 1st post.

Yes , some do. I know because I often ignore withheld number calls - assuming they are just sales calls. Nowadays I have to answer them just in case.

Sadly, I can't remember which ones call from withheld numbers, but I have had a few calls like that. Does your phone have the facility to take recorded messages?

Yes, my mobile goes to my voicemail after a number of rings, but I haven't received any messages. Then I get a couple more missed calls from a withheld number again... so whoever it is really wants to talk to me but not enough to actually tell me who they are haha. I would assume that an MS company would leave a message asking me to call them back perhaps?

To be honest, I've had a couple of MS companies who have left a message for me so I'd be inclined to agree if they really want to contact you, they will leave a message or send an email as well. Or... maybe they need a job doing urgently and if you're in a meeting you wouldn't be able to do it anyway, so don't let it worry you.

However, I have also noticed an increase in sales calls since I started MSing. In the past I wouldn't give my phone number out to anyone - now I've had to give it to loads of MS companies, and also had to give it out for some jobs where a callback was required - now I keep getting a recorded message ringing me up and telling me I've won something. Don't know what - I always put the phone down before it gets that far! :rotfl:
