To be honest, I've had a couple of MS companies who have left a message for me so I'd be inclined to agree if they really want to contact you, they will leave a message or send an email as well. Or... maybe they need a job doing urgently and if you're in a meeting you wouldn't be able to do it anyway, so don't let it worry you.

However, I have also noticed an increase in sales calls since I started MSing. In the past I wouldn't give my phone number out to anyone - now I've had to give it to loads of MS companies, and also had to give it out for some jobs where a callback was required - now I keep getting a recorded message ringing me up and telling me I've won something. Don't know what - I always put the phone down before it gets that far! :rotfl:
Yes, I am the same with regards to giving out my number. When we connected our BT landline at our new property I got those 'Congratulations!' calls before I'd had a chance to tell anyone our new number!

Well, I'll let you know when I finally answer the call and if "i've won a prize" you can share it :p

When GAP ring it is either blank or "number unavailable". They NEVER leave a message and might ring back several times if no one else accepts the job.

You can register mobile numbers with Telephone Preference Service (TPS) as well as landlines.....
I registered mine at the same time as my landline, and I haven't had any sales calls.......touch wood!!!

I am registered! Unfortunately that doesn't stop the calls that originate from abroad. I believe they are not subject to the same rules.

what is the web addy for the GAP company, it sounds very interesting some of the assignments that you have been on. Would like to sign up myself.

    Cheers

    Donna

Depends on your definition of interesting.:rotfl::eek:

If you find going to fast food places and asking for a burger then asking for a receipt which makes it obvious you are a MS'er AND pressing a stop watch in the queue for a rubbish fee floats your boat.

Look at page 1 of this thread. They're are far better paying companies out there. Gap I call Gyp. They have little idiosyncracies...like not paying you, not answering your emails, sacking you if you try and phone them. etc etc.

But each to his own. If you are doing other better paid jobs it is OK to fit in a free burger but IMHO not worth doing their jobs for a paltry fee unless it is a higher paid premium job.

They wouldn't fall into my definition of interesting. But maybe you are a fast food fan.
Whe I was a nurse in NHS24 a lot of our calls for gippy tummy's were from patients who had eaten at these places. One guy even demanded a house call saying he couldn't leave to go to the centre to see a doc as he was the manager.!!! His reason for wanting a house call.....he had diarrhoea and vomiting. Ugh!!!

    Hi all

1st job completed for GAP. I've just submitted the results and had an email saying the results are pending & I may receive a phone call. Is this a standard response? I did have a query over the timings which I clarified on the evaluation. Thanks again!

Hi I have just accepted a job for a spanish restaurant with RE. It specifies 4 dishes to order for the two people, has anyone done this job before and can advise if this is all we order, or can we order other dishes provided we do not order the ones it specifically says not to? The instructions would suggest we can order others but do not specifically say that. Thanks x
