How did you get into doing merchandising Beccles, if you don't mind me asking. Was it for a MS company?

Yes. I started with IMS doing MS work, and was offered some merchandising, so I gave it a go and enjoyed it. Then I signed up with other companies.

It's interesting but you need different skills to MS work. You need to wear business wear and sign into stores, and then you need to be able speak to various people on the shop floor from shelf stackers right up to store managers. You need to be quite confident and persuasive, especially with managers who initially refuse to let you do your job in their store or staff who won't print shelf labels, won't look up stock inventory on the PC, won't tell you where stuff is in the warehouse etc. You need a decent camera too as many jobs now ask you to take before and after photo's of your work.
Here I go again on my own....
  • I agree with the RE website issues, it is a fight to get the assignments and then a fight to put them on.

I have sent them an e-mail and await a response.

On a lighter note has anyone done a Gap pizza job where they have a picture of five different people smiling and you have to pick the type of smile you received - hilarious. But then it made me think what the hell am I doing!

Paul that is hilarious but also a bit sad. Who the heck do these companies think they are. They are probably paying their staff the minimum wage so fair enough they can check service times etc. But what a flaming cheek measuring how they smile.

    Hi Moneysavers,

Is anyone having problems entering results on Retail Eyes today??
For the past 45 minutes as soon as I complete one page of results and try to move on to "next" it logs me out and loses results.

I have tried calling Retail eyes team on 3 different fone numbers and get a recorded message saying the office is closed, please ring back during office hours. (They were open at 9am yest)

I'm abit stuck now...... have tons to do 2day and need to get results in soon to meet the 24 hour deadline........ :s

(Having read back it seems this is an ongoing problem - must be the "new" Beta site?) I'm still not sure what I should do now, especially as I cant get to speak to anyone OR a machine?!?!

    Hi Ellie,
I had problems as well last night and today and it's finally going ok. It took me till 0200 to do a report from yesterday and it then took about an hour to log in and do anything today.

I've just finished submitting a report and I experienced those problems as well. It logged me out at least 8 times during the process and I kept having to redo my answers. I got there in the end but it is so frustrating. They should be paying us extra to cover all the additional time it is taking us to submit our reports. One took me 4 hours to do couple of weeks ago:mad:
  • RE have rail food & drinks on now
  • MCE have show homes on as well, but only in Scotland...
  • Couple of quick questions about RE please.

I have just accepted my first ever job with them. Is it true I can't accept any more jobs until this one is done and I am removed (hopefully) from probationary status? Only I can still see other jobs.

Secondly, since so many people are having problems entering reports on the new website I'm a bit worried about doing this assignment and then not getting paid. Can anyone reassure me? Are RE ok, are they human? Will I be able to ring them up if I have a problem entering the report?

    Thanks.
  • After my race against time last night to put in my report, in short frantic bursts before the website crashed, I had a proofreading query from my report. Why? Because I had not made enough comments. And RE is surprised? The report would never have reached them in time otherwise. Honestly, I can’t get rid of this report!
    Just for your info-
    • extra payment in recognition of the time it took?….Not possible.
    • shoppers will be reluctant to take on RE assignments when the reporting takes so long. ..Not accepted.
    Hey ho.
